Israel asked for hostages. They didn't say they had to be alive and due to Palestinian propaganda, they'll just say the IDF killed them by artillery strikes. It's a suspiciously bad deal for the Jews to make, which leads me to think Mossad have some means to track the prisoners they're releasing in order to find the tunnel network entrances and other cells.

My theory: Hamas literally can't have the Red Cross examine 200-ish hostages because most are missing or dead. Random Gazans ran off with the hotter women or more blackmarket sellable children, and the men were largely beaten into fatal internal injuries.

Hamas can scoop up a handful of kids, uglier mothers and the living middle-aged women. Seems like most of the old people are long dead. They'll be hard pressed to actually hand over 50 people.

I'll bet Israel has asked Hamas to provide some video-chat type virtual examination of the hostages, but Hamas still said no because most of their hostages are not in video-ready shape.

If we see any men in the "women and children" released group, that's a bad sign. They aren't supposed to hand over IDF or men yet, so watch for that (if 50 people are actually released). That means they ran out of children and civilian women to release.

Seems like Israel must know most of the hostages are dead at this point. Which is why they "negotiated" the 50 hostages for 150 Palestinians deal. It gives the illusion they are open to a ceasefire and are willing to be the bigger person by giving up a greater number of people. When in reality they know hamas can't get 50 hostages together and this was just a PR move for them.
