Yeah I'll probably get the hats for this but this really irks me. It's like a cult leader secluding himself with his brainwashed horde after he's been outed as a monster.
It's really irritating and childish, the way he isolates himself in a bubble where he is showered with ass pats and shit. And people are so readily willing to give him exactly what he wants.

So, to recap, not only has Jirard been hoarding hundreds of thousands of dollars from chairties he's done over the past decade (since 2013), on top of trying to make his channel more corprate (which led to him and Greg splitting), but his father is also involved with a fraud scheme of his own; having owned a Golf tournament and gas fraud scheme with some other guy. On top of that, Jirard's mother was a bit of a loose cannon and her dementia made her insane.

Ummm his sister humblebragged in her wedding business website about enslaving her childhood classmates to make jewelry and getting out of a million dollars in debt, but not specifying how.
His dad was sued and lost because none of his gas stations were up to code for handicap access, and the funniest part was leaving barrels of gas in the handicap parking spots
And I think but im not sure a few years ago Jirard tried to sell therapeutic candles on his website, and i think someone found the same ones in a dollar store and he quietly took them down

After the second post, a lot of my wonderful fellow kiwifarmers pointed out how bullshit Jirard's spiel about "EMULATION VERY VERY VERYHARD AND GATEKEEPING" was completely wrong.
I bet you'd find it very interesting that the VGHF echoes the same sentiment as Jirard. In the second video Jirard made in conjunction with the VGHF, it was related to a "study" the VGHF did that said 87% of classic video games were completely unavailable on digital storefronts

So, they want libraries. That's right, if you want to play old games, go to the soy library!
This also contradicts an earlier paragraph.
Because going to the website Vimm's Lair is too hard!
The goal seems to be to open a soy library where if you want to play older games, you have to physically go there. This would put the control of "preservation" into the hands of the VGHF, and lines up nicely with their goals of manipulating the retro market alongside Wata, LRG, Pink Gorilla, and anybody else yet to be found.
Jirard is also clearly helping with this goal, since as @Triggerni66er noted, Jirard donated the consoles with all the eshop games for the purposes of the soy libraries.
There's another example of the VGHF trying to discredit emulation, also related to the "study".

This right here is the smoking gun. We have seen Jirard discredit emulation in his videos about "preservation" in collaboration with the VGHF, in the previous part of this section, we have also seen the VGHF discredit emulation, but they were trying to weasel around it, and just go "ugh, piracy". Here? They're outright stating the same rhetoric as Jirard.
It's likely they fed those exact lines to our dear friend Jirard. Discrediting emulation seems to be an active goal of the VGHF, in service of market manipulation and soy libraries.

Let's bring things back to Jirard.
In 2021, Jirard was selling a Completionist 10th anniversary "Zine"... All the proceeds went to the VGHF.
On April 15th and 16th of 2023, Jirard did a livestream to "help support" the VGHF. (Sadly the livestream is lost, help tracking it down would be appreciated!)
A funny reply, considering our knowledge of the VGHF's goals:
Jirard's history with the VGHF seems to date back to 2021, as evidenced by the first post.
It's ever clear to me that Jirard and the VGHF are actively working together, and to quote myself from earlier: "In my eyes, his videos about "preservation" and his work with VGHF should be spotlighted right alongside his charity fraud, it might not be as bad as what he's done with Open Hand, but he's messing with things that didn't need to be messed with all for a shitty retro market bubble scheme, and videos to make him appear virtuous so that he can get his good boy points."
Help with researching this rabbithole would be appreciated, Jirard's links to the VGHF only become clearer the more I look into things, and the VGHF seems to have a deep history (they even have a fucking podcast on their website)

Here's something the VGHF or other preservation schitzos will never admit: A huge chunk of those "unavailable games" are shovelware made for either a quick buck or made to promote a new movie, tv show, food, etc. These people just love to throw around the idea that *gasp* not every game is "preserved" simply for the fact that it makes for good fear-mongering. That's quite the charitable interpretation, and one I'd rather be true... But I have to disagree.
For one, a site where you can easily download roms already exists. It's Vimm's Lair, and another kiwi has already pointed out that exact site.
It's also been around since 1997, so there's clearly a reason Nintendo hasn't DMCAed it unlike other rom sites.
Second off, it's clear from the stance of both Jirard and the VGHF that emulation = bad because piracy = bad
As showcased, there's been an active effort to discredit emulation from the two of them, and Jirard explicitly labeled it "gatekeeping".
It's also clear that VGHF is working with Wata Games, Limited Run Games, Pink Gorilla, and likely more. There's a history here of the VGHF working with parties that directly benefit from the centralization of "preservation", and the discrediting of emulation. Making roms easily accessible to any normie who can't google "super mario nes rom" and click the Vimm's Lair result goes directly against the established behavior of the VGHF and their clear ties.
