Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Why does this guy have a suppressed M4 w/ACOG optic. I would think special units doing convert operations would get this kind of gear and not regular units fighting on the front line trenches.
Could they really follow behind without getting shot up themselves?
Going off my knowledge when I was on ARFCOM many years ago
Dear two newfags who want to treat this thread as an excuse to sperg out about shit you know from your long years of forum participation and video games

Please shut the fuck up and lurk moar, you embarrassing retards.

Thanks.

Like that. Notably, the confession was aired on a Ukrainian channel by a member of Zelensky's own politial party this time, so it is hard to dismiss as Russian propaganda. Not that it won't be, of course.

When BJ showed up in Kiev to tell Zelensky not to negotiate, it wasn't a suggestion, it was an instruction he couldn't disobey.

By March 2022, Ukraine was already completely dependent on Western money and arms, they have no independent ability to prosecute a war against Russia for very long without the West's infinite money cheat plus loot crates. Sending BJ in person - as British prime minister he was second only to Tony Blinken in the Western political power structure - was a message in itself. Do what we tell you, or else.

What would have happened if Zelensky tried to refuse an offer that could not be refused? He would most likely have died quickly at the hands of "Russian agents" and the West would have put someone else in place to continue the war.

Even if Zelensky had magic immunity to bullets and bombs, if he showed up at the negotiating table without Western support, he was also fucked, because Russia isn't a charitable organization. Without Western backing, he had nothing to offer Russia in negotiations except surrender. Ukraine's negotiating position would have been impossible. Thanks, "the West"!

The guy has had multiple guns pointed at his head since he assumed office. History probably won't think much of President Zelensky, but he only pawn in game of NATO.

It's been a while since they received the last care package, but they seem to be doing fine. Not much map-painting has taken place after the gravy train ran out.

I just wonder if he thought about that when he was just an amiable comedian who agreed to play a charismatic president on a silly TV show because an oligarch had taken a liking to him and bankrolled the project.

You can watch it if you like. It is in Russian (lol), but as English subtitles.

Nigger what subforum do you think this is? That's the whole purpose of the thread

If you read Zelensky's election winning 2019 manifesto, and I assume many Ukranians did, he was the peace candidate.

The Ukranian people didn't want this war. Zelensky probably didn't either. True - not wanting a war that hasn't happened yet is not the same thing as pacifism after you have been attacked. Russia did invade Ukraine, Ukranians have a right to be angry about that, and to try to defend themselves.

But the collective West did want this war, and has wanted it since 2004 if not earlier. Russia is doing evil things in Ukraine, but our leaders are even worse for Ukraine than Putin is because they were always eager to fight to the last Ukrainian and didn't tell the Ukies about this minor detail until it was too late. Like the last major Western interventions in Libya and Syria, we in the collective West have destroyed yet another previously functional country and turned it into a failed state full of corpses.

The purpose of this thread is on topic and, ideally, informed discussion of the war, or memeing on ukrops. Anything, really, but a space for some internet forum warrior and another equally ignorant retard to wax poetic about why guys who are being armed and supplied by western powers have NATO weapons in NATO calibers, or the existence of le poison bullet, or combined arms tactics 101 or any of the other inane shit you two spent 2 pages shitting up the thread with.

Thanks.

>talk about the war but not in too much detail because... JUST DONT OKAY
How is asking about the war not on topic in the fucking thread about the war? Retard nigger.

Asking how small unit tactics work and being clueless is not on topic about the war. If you don't understand how assaults on trenches work just shut the fuck up or go do some research on it.

You sound like an actual retard bringing up "well the russians don't have flamethrowers"

I'm not going to reply to your gay ass bait anymore, just do yourself a favor and if you don't have anything of value to talk about - go somewhere else. Nigger.

I don't have a problem lurking moar. I much rather read the postings here as quite a few of the opinions seemed to be from non Western influnced individuals. I'm gonna disagree with the sperging part as I was asking for context as to why the hohols are doing what seems to be dumb shit to me.

I'll ask the following question that fits your definition to be on topic. Do you think the Russians disrupting the Ukrainian infrastructure will lead to Z man coming to the table for peace talks sooner?

First of all, no, I am not a soldier, either, so I'm trying to be careful not to say anything that will have the vets on this forums jumping up my ass to call me a retard. However, combat distances are really far in Ukraine, acquiring and hitting targets is hard, and guns are really loud, so being able to more easily acquire targets, hit what he's shooting at, and reduce the noise of his rifle is an all-around benefit to a modern infantryman.

Apparently, there is either a proposal or plan to equip FAB-250 UMPK Glide bombs with a propulsion system, which I would assume to be a simple rocket motor and not an actual engine. The claimed maximum range would be 100km (62.1 Miles)

VK link to video

A comparable bomb would be a JDAM-ER 500LB bomb, which RUSI claims has a maximum range of 80km (49.7 Miles) with a filling weight of 89kg (196lbs) compared to the FAB's 100kg (220.4lbs). So if the stats are correct the FAB beats out the JDAM-ER in both range and explosive power (can't speak to accuracy, but an extra 24lbs of explosive probably negates that just a little bit)

What I would be interested to see is a FAB-250 with one or more small jet engines, like those seen on the Iranian Shahed-238 or 358 Missile, the proposed Powered JDAM model which utilizes a 500lb Mark 82 munition is said to have a range of 345.2 miles (555km) and would be cheaper than even the cheapest cruise missile (though probably more expensive than a Shahed-131/136)

Link to Forbes Article (I converted the Nautical mile listings into standard units) about the proposed Powered JDAM, it also discusses that if the warhead was replaced with a fuel tank, the range could be extended to 805.5 Miles (1296.3km) and thus serve as a decoy.
I have no doubt that either Russia, China or Iran could manufacture an engine like the one suggested for the PJDAM, the TDI-J85 which produces up to 200lbs of thrust

No. The only thing that will bring Z Man to the table is his paymasters in the West going "hey, time to pack it up, thanks for playing GeoPolitics with us"

Oh, I did read it all right. The TV series I linked is all about a poor, good, honest person who becomes a president to fight the injustice, put an end to the corruption and just be relatable because of how gosh darn good-natured and wholesome he is. He used this image to run on the platform of reconciling with Donbass and putting an end to the corruption smothering Ukraine.

You know what happened next. He did exactly the opposite of what he promised.

The youtube comments are tongue-bathing his pucker, but most are from seven years old and some are saying that "this will be studied in history classes". I am sure it will be, just not in the way they thought it would.

The whole fiasco regarding the initial peace talks of last year kind of reminds me of how the Allies handled the Winter War between Finland and the Soviet Union, whenever the Finnish government started to entertain the notion of coming to the negotiating table the French prime minister at the time would call them and tell them to keep fighting because over 40-80 thousand Allied volunteers were on their way along with fresh equipment, of course this never happened because the Allies wanted the war to drag on so that the Soviets would lose as many men and equipment as possible and so that military intervention in Scandinavia could be possible in order to stop Germany from importing steel from Sweden.
