What I get from his story at the time is that he was just unwilling to do jack shit and lay in bed until someone came and solved his basic problems. After everything was said and done he decided to hype everything up to play up how depressed he was so he can get pitty points.

I was just listening to his 2019 birthday stream again tonight because Seethin' Steven uploaded it again recently. In it he very clearly claims that he was a millionaire for a 'short period' right before he got divorced, but then he lost half of everything. This very obviously runs counter to his claims on RTU to have only made a million his whole career, it's totally ridiculous. The divorce was 2017, so go figure that math out.

I plan to write a more detailed post with timestamps going through that stream again soon because he says some pretty interesting stuff given the context we have in 2023.

EDIT: he also uses the term 'bank accountS' in the stream which I found interesting, most people refer to all of their chequing/savings/etc. with each bank as an 'account', but we only saw a single set in the documentary.

I'm starting to get on board with these theories. Another story I want to find a parallel with is his "feeder girlfriend story". Let's be real, this didn't happen. This is one of Boogie's many fantasies which he dreamed up in his head and / or replaced himself in the starring role like he did with his sister's molestation story and Adam the Woo's girl scout cookie story. I would like to know who he stole the feeder story from.

The gas station story is another one which sounds like it's straight out of a movie or TV show. It's like some kind of jock vs nerd plotline. I think it was during the h3 Podcast which I linked above, but Boogie also tells a story about how some guy tried breaking into his house to try and use a phone. Boogie is such a nice guy that he let the guy use his phone and then drove him home.

Imo, Boogie's biggest asset is his his ability to speak well and tell stories. If the year is 2016, you're a huge h3h3 fan and you hear this random guest telling all these stories, you'd believe them. This is another reason he built up such a strong reputation as as lovable guy. Boogie is an actor, sometimes a very convincing one if you allow him the right circumstances.

Let's take the True Geordie Podcast as an example of the right circumstances.

1) The host loves Boogie
2) The host is ignorant to Boogie's past indiscretions
3) The host allows Boogie to spin his bullshit stories uncontested
4) Audience response is overwhelmingly positive
5) If you buy what he's selling, Boogie comes across as likeable

Contrast that with any trainwreck appearance ranging for the Killstream vs Frank Hassle, the Turkey Tom "interview", the Mundane Matt meltdown, the Actual Jake meltdown or any of the Lolcow Podcasts so far. These are the wrong circumstances.

1) Boogie's demeanour is more defensive
2) Boogie doesn't feel in control
3) The audience is aware of Boogie's true nature
4) Boogie's tactics get called out
5) Boogie's stories are questioned

Boogie's personality shapes to whatever the circumstance requires at any given time. The funniest example would be the Killstream vs Frank Hassle. He was changing masks by the minutes.

The downside to Boogie's "loveable" podcast appearances is that he has no control over what is included / not included. Take the gay marriage comments during his 2nd h3 podcast appearance for example. He would've nuked that from his channel if that was on his platform. Another downside is that it's Boogie telling stories. With each Boogie story comes another 50 re-tellings of the same story in future.

It's funny because I used to think maybe some of his stories are true. Now, I really don't believe literally any of his outlandish stories. For example on H3 he said that a drunk guy broke into his house "trying to use his phone" or some shit, but on the Official Podcast he said it was a deranged fan. I posted it a little while ago but his "darkweb hitman" story is ridiculous as well, you can hear that on H3 and be like "what the fuck", but the more he talks about these things, the more he slips up or forgets things.

Reminds me of how he was bragging about being "tunnel brothers" with Logan Paul, and then one day on stream said "I forget if it was Jake or Logan... On Killstream though, the dude was jumping between super nice friendly fat guy to some weird tough redneck character within seconds/minutes. I remember he said within like one or two sentences of each other that he loves Frank and that he wishes he would catch fire.

One of my favorites is that his mom was trying to gauge his eye out so he jumped out of a moving car at 30 MPH and didn't get seriously injured and nobody cared. Pretty much all his stories start off with some vague incident that did actually occur, but then Boogie has to turn it up to 11 and throw in a bunch of extra bullshit and lies to make the story more entertaining and make him look like the good guy.

He can't just say "I grew up in the deep South of the US and was exposed to bigotry and hatred against black people, but I've grown up and changed". He has to make it that he was a local champion campaigning for LGBT rights and freedoms even as a child! He marched on the streets of Akansas for rights and even dated multiple black people even though he was ostracised from his community.

One of the more outrageous lies that I hardly ever see brought up nowadays is the Race Rudder incident of 2019.

For Memorial Day 2019 Boogie made a post on Twitter explaining how he knew someone from high school called Race Rudder, who served in the military and tragically died at aged 18 during combat in desert storm as a result of an accident on base. As expected, boogie (a person who contributes nothing to society) spins this into making veterans day about himself. Going onto say that he kept his spirit and legacy alive by continuing their family's tradition of doing a haunted house for Halloween and keeps in contact with his parents.

Of course, this kind of claim is very easy to validate and @Portajohn proves it's all a lie.

It confirms that he went to high school in the area where Boogie grew up (Wise County, VA) around the same time boogie was in high school, he served in the Navy, and he was deployed to the first Gulf War. But the guy didn't die in a base accident at 18. He left the Navy, had a family and multiple jobs in the private sector, and lived to 40.

I then pointed out that, since home prices & rents are just undergoing massive inflation rather than his property being uniquely valuable, as he would still need a place to live, he would need to significantly downgrade his standard of living in order to actually bank any cash. You agreed in so many words, saying that he should move from a 5-BR house to a 1-BR apartment, which is a significant downgrade in his standard of living.

Perspective has nothing to do with whether or not a given home is a particularly hot item on the market. There's nothing unique about his house compared to other houses with a similar floor plan in a similar area, and its current value isn't uniquely high. In fact, given the way boogie treats it, and he's doubtlessly far too lazy to make the minor improvements needed to boost the sale price, he'll probably get significantly less than average if he sells it.

This really isn't about boogie (I don't give a flying fuck what quality of life he has); it's about the fact that inflation isn't making homeowners rich, and selling your house and renting during an inflationary period is generally horrible financial advice. But since it isn't about boogie, it's off topic, so I'll drop it in this thread.
