That middle one gives off a strong SJW vibe, doesn't it?
Indeed they do. That's because the entire community is like that:
Limited Run, VGHF, youtube ecelebs, all these people are connected and they're all left leaning(in fact when they saw the video exposing jirad(iirc), they were too busy seething over how the australian was supposedly a right wing bigot). You genuinely can't have a presence in that community if you're not left leaning, they will ban you if you deviate from the right opinions, or for that matter, if you contact developers without their permission.

They run a tight ship there, no CHUDS allowed.
Here's something the VGHF or other preservation schitzos will never admit: A huge chunk of those "unavailable games" are shovelware made for either a quick buck or made to promote a new movie, tv show, food, etc. These people just love to throw around the idea that *gasp* not every game is "preserved" simply for the fact that it makes for good fear-mongering. No one is losing sleep over the fact that Sesame Street: A-B-C for the NES hasn't received a re-release, let alone a Limited-Run-sanctioned physical re-release that comes with a bunch of extras and costs $100.
I'm of two minds of this. One, there's plenty of good games that are left in the aether, either because the rights are in some kind of hellscape limbo or they are subject to the whims of the publisher, who may or may not give a fuck, or actively hate it. An example would be Konami, and all the video games they're holding onto, stuff like Hagane, Bloody Roar, the Bomberman games that don't end in R, Bonk(including a nearly finished unreleased 360/ps3 game they arbitrarily cancelled), Adventure Island, Snatcher, the turbografx library in general, a bunch of games, yet all of that gets passed over for a rerelease in favor of the Felix the buttfucking cat collection, quite possibly the definition of shovelware.
On the other, they really just want clout. They get a very nasty attitude when their roms aren't praised to high heaven, even when it's something very niche like an unreleased game boy game or a sports game for a bike accessory. So whatever they have in mind wouldn't likely benefit anyone but them and their immediate circle.

You can see this by checking the VGHF head guy's twitter, or if you happen to be in a discord that dude is in anytime they release a rom, they tend to seethe.
