Agreed on this, with the exception of private schools that don't accept public funds.
I agree, same with private clubs and nonessential services. A wedding cake is not an essential service (for example).
make your sign say "Drug test required"
Not selling scratchers, dip and Milwaukee's Beast or Keystone will also help.

Yeah we should have just shut down our military manufacturing because the men were overseas.
the only solution to the problem is to kill all women the second we go to war, we can't have them potentially rising up against their overlords.

i can't see elon really getting anywhere with what he's doing lately, even these lawsuits. maybe i'm just overly negative now but i just don't think that he's going to make much headway, and i don't even really know what he wants out of all this in the first place. i guess for media matters to shut the fuck up, and i agree with that part at least, so i hope he does win.

It would work just as well as it did for Germany with their retarded "homebound wife and mother" ideology. The Soviets, UK and US smoked them so hard because it was all hands on deck for the war effort in those nations.

Didn't stop ol' Magda Goebbels from murdering her own children however. Some wife and mother she was.

Because lawfare is expensive. Every dollar that Media Matters has to devote to defending this lawsuit is a dollar they can't spend on furthering their agenda.

Musk has more money than he could realistically spend and he is aware of it. For as much as people call him stupid for buying twitter, he didn't change anything in his lifestyle to do it and he can afford to piss the money away. Same principle here.

I agree, maybe focus on spreading social media literacy instead of censoring users, maybe push established media for the facts and social media for speculation and the every mans voice.

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” —Nelson Mandela.
In an ideal world, this would be the solution, but a lot of this shit started with governments, NGOs, and individuals wanting to stem the spread of mis/disinfo via "education". Of course, in practice it turned out lopsided and slanted towards their views even to the point they smeared the actual truth as false. That still wasn't enough for them, so they started targeting speech, because there were STILL people who refused to just blindly go along with what they said.
Until the people in charge of the educating are willing to recognize their own biases and blind spots, it might be best to just leave it alone. Those who care about the truth can learn, but the second education is brought up, it reminds me of the attempt to bring DHS in on "preventing disinformation", where there are "experts" on the matter who are so very clearly not approaching it from a neutral matter.

Unless they win an anti-SLAPP, and Texas has one of the strongest in the country. It wouldn't cost Musk/X much in terms of money, but it would be a black eye. Let's hope the opening complaint states a cause of action that gets it past that phase.

That dumb fuck Paxton made things way more difficult for everyone on Musk's side by calling Media Matters "a radical anti-free speech speech organization" in his statement, without quotes. It's bad enough he quoted himself calling them a "left-wing radical organization" and put it all in writing no less.

What a goddamned idiot.

Don't ever, EVER say anything that could be construed as defamation towards the other party in civil or criminal litigation...you just opened up a whole other front in this lawfare, Ken.

From the NYT article on his visit:
On Monday, Israel appeared to reach an understanding with Mr. Musk over his proposal this month to deploy Starlink, the satellite internet service he owns, in Gaza for aid agencies to use amid cellular and internet blackouts. Palestinians have blamed Israel for the communications interruptions.

Israel’s communications minister, Shlomo Karhi, said that Mr. Musk had consented not to open access to the system in Israel and in Gaza without the permission of his ministry. “This understanding is vital,” Mr. Karhi wrote on X.
I wonder what Elon gets out of that deal, because you know he didn't do it without getting something valuable in return.

It's very revealing that bureaucrats are fixated upon censoring speech platforms rather than actually combatting "misinformation". In the backrooms where they scheme their public relations campaigns they use any manipulative tactic they can, and are real assmad when they see their enemies doing the same.

I read Grok as Gork and thought of Warhammer. I would love to have a Greenskin AI saying nigger and WAAAGGHH! bc Greenskins are basically the niggers of Warhammer.
Orks/Orcs were based on English football hooligans.
The Savage Orcs are more to your liking
I still find it hilarious to see today’s politicians and billionaires wearing bulletproof vests in war-torn conflicts like this, yet they know they’ll never get hurt or killed in any way shape or form.
The war won't kill him, but regular assassins might

Watching the "social media is not the government" left/dems melt the fuck down over losing control over twitter has been hilarious and telling. I suppose next will come the threats for more "oversight" or "incentives" to comply.. which OC the courts will continue to ignore and not enforce their own rulings on. (the government CAN NOT *wink wink* things that they can't do legally. They can't even appear to through normal means like via legitimate oversight systems etc. and especially through threat of retaliation)

Criminal ghouls, all of them. Enemies of a free country and its people.

They keep citing X's own policies. X should just change their policy then. Fuckin back seat mods.

This is a favorite tactic to try and beat people into censoring things progs don't like. Most of the "anti-hate" and other such policies in ToSs and CoCs, are trojan horses to begin with. (that's why the hysterics over getting them included without thought ASAP)

I actually worry about this angle. (in general, not just here and now) I'm just waiting for some ghoul argument to come along arguing that this shit could/should be enforced by the courts or something. I can see the push right now, esp for ToSs, based on some twisted contractual claim about the nature of the clauses. (like that it grants the expectations to people signing up that such things are banned etc) Would it be legally nonsensical and without precedent? Yes.. Would it be something the modern progressive left and media would try to argue? You bet! Once they got the narrative running and the MSM screeching. It would be the newest "comment sense" thing that democracy and society can't live without.
