First time he took Adderall, he passed out on his recliner while standing and holding one of his kids, so his doctor said he should not take it.
Nice find with the Ritalin clips.
The anecdote in the first longer clip is odd.
He claims that his first dose of Adderall made him pass out for two hours. He then stopped the med. It was also a controlled collapse, as he was able to communicate with Kayla to take his second oldest from him and fall into a Lazyboy without injury. Also was a long time ago because he describes his second oldest as a baby, meaning this story is a decade old and pre-YT.
Adderall shouldn't cause you to pass out, it should do the opposite. A simple faint or a new-onset seizure shouldn't make you lose consciousness for hours.
Similarly, a new-onset cardiac arrhythmia, which is certainly possible with pre-existing cardiac predisposition and stimulant meds, is possible. But presumably sick cardiac wiring should also be prone to causing similar problems with years of Ritalin use.
TBH, though I know there's tons of skepticism re: Nick's narcolepsy diagnosis (which I don't necessarily disagree), what Nick describes as an Adderall drug adverse event to me actually sounds more like a true narcolepsy drop attack.
