I’m not trying to say the scams themselves are 1 to 1 equivalents, just that the logic of dismissing the people being tricked by the scam as stupid isn’t fair, and that it shouldn’t be done as a way of deflecting blame away from the persons doing the scamming.
You can argue that not all people give to DSP because of his scam tactics, but the fact that some do and that he uses the tactics at all still makes him a scammer. If he didn’t need to employ those tactics to make money he wouldn’t do them, and then it actually would be as simple as morons paying a guy to be bad at games.
