Lowtax strikes me as someone who doesn't realize people are your most important resource in life. Something I learned throughout life is that it's extremely helpful to have a mentor--someone you can call and ask for pointed advice.

Like I argued earlier, Lowtax was less interested in money, especially coming from his background and just having it around (and why he spent it so freely) than being the proud owner of the BEST COMEDY WEBSITE EVER... despite not having the discipline to actually do anything with it. It was basically his claim to fame and one success in life. His life was in a downward spiral since around his first wife, and the website long before that. He was incredibly defensive about any criticism towards SA, whatsoever, even the most miniscule constructive ones. I think goons at the time thought it was just sort of a forum culture 'meme' of some sort but in reality it was just Lowtax's stark antisocial mental illness.

Only people I know if whom Lowtax may have been able to reach out were Diabetus and slowbeef of Retsupurae fame. slowbeef, in particular, is happily married and is also a father. He's a weirdo, but for certain one can say that he's of sound mind and certainly well off. slowbeef is a dad and he's happy to be one.

Honestly, I feel like Lowtax could have used some time in the military. Maybe not a career, but even if he had gone to basic training and learned more about how to work with people, he may have had a better understanding of things. Really, when I look at him, I see a kid who never really grew up. He hit the whole dating scene way too late and had no fucking idea of the fact that being a father is one of the most meaningful things that can happen to you in your life.

That being a father is probably what gets me the most about his story is because he fucking squandered that. And, no, he can't really blame his ex-wife for that one. One might have been able to see him trying to make things right if he didn't an hero himself, but the fact that he did basically showed that his fatherhood meant nothing to him.
