Not going to hunt down all the original studies/research, but here are some key points (sperg ahead, but I hate this bullshit pack of uninformed lies). Real facts on child support (U.S. info):
About 30% of parents who are owed child support payments get nothing, according to data from the Census Bureau.
In 2017[1], the 5.4 million parents who were owed child support payments received 62% of the amount they were supposed to get, on average.
The median amount received was $1,800, though 1.6 million, or 30% received no child support at all. About 46% of parents with child support agreements get all of what is owed to them.
Child support orders have decreased dramatically over the past two decades. (The accompanying graph to this statement, which isn't an image and won't copy over, shows about a 45 degree slope downward over the last couple decades in number of parents receiving any child support).
The average amount of child support due was $5,760 per year. That's less than $500 per month.

Real world - and remember the piss-poor collection percentages above, so reduce numbers accordingly:
I just ran some numbers on a child support calculator in a state with a decent standard of living, a presumption of 50-50 parenting time, and a decent social welfare net. My inputs:
1. Parent A makes $5000/mo ($60,000/yr). Parent B makes $0. 2 kids. Equal time with kids. Kids' Healthcare is covered by the state, as Parent B is eligible. No childcare costs. Monthly child support: $56 ($28/child/month). A pays 1.12% of income to child support.
2. If Parent B has kids 100% of the time, all else the same: monthly child support: $622. Parent B has all child-related expenses, all child-related responsibilities, must have housing appropriate for kids, etc., on less than $7500/year from support. A pays about 12.44% of income in exchange for zero other child responsibilities.
3. At higher wages: If A makes $120,000/yr and B makes $36,000/yr (kids still eligible for state healthcare at this amount), 50-50 time, monthly support A to B is $591 total ($295/child/month). A pays 5.91% of income to child support.
4. At $120k/36k, 100% time to B, monthly child support is $1582 ($791 /child/month). Despite A making double what A made in example ##1-2, A's buyout cost for having no child responsibilities is only $170 more/month. A pays about 15.82% of income to child support, no other obligations.
5. As B's income increases, support decreases. If A earns $120k and B 60k, equal parenting time (at 60k B's children are still eligible for some form of state Healthcare), monthly child support: $423 ($211.50/child/month). A pays 4.23% of income in child support, despite equal time and making 2x what B does.
6. At A $120k, B $60k, B has children 100%, monthly child support: $1500 ($750/child/month). A pays 15% of income with no time/care responsibilities.
The courts in this^ state clearly support (both in judicial presumptions and in support dollars) both parents having equal or close time with children, and consider it the starting assumption; there is no "dads get screwed out of custody/time with their kids because courts are all rigged for women" nonsense. And for the low, low price of $3700-9000/year/kid, you can fly away scot-free of responsibility, and decent-to-plenty of money left to live on. Pretty low wages for being a 100% solo parent.
In addition, the formula is geared to urge B to work. Example: If A makes 120k and B is back to $0, at 50-50% time for B, monthly support is $917, about $326/mo more than if B made 36k (1/10 of what B would earn). At 100% time for B, amount is $1778, $196/mo more than if B makes 36k (again, a fraction of B's earnings at 36k). It is in B's/kids' fiscal interests for B to work. So, no huge swathes of lower-earning parents are not living the free and easy life on the other parent's dime.
This state also imputes income to both parents: if you're not working or are underemployed they will input an income amount that reflects what they think you, with your qualifications/experience should be earning. The minimum is low, but if you're a physician or a construction worker with 10 years' experience, that's not going to be the plug number). So those $0 income calculations are artificially low and calculations with the imputed income will yield lower baseline support amounts.
In addition, the calculation in this state maxes out once the bigger-earner's wage hits $20k/month; at 50-50, this means max $1344/mo with 2 kids, even if B is making $0. If B has kids 100% of the time, max is $2631/mo ($1315/kid/mo). As A makes more and more over $240k/yr, none of it goes to the kids' baseline support amount.
These are baseline numbers. Courts can deviate up or down, but these calcs are common and at least ballpark correct.

I (woman) am not one who has every really been bothered or felt vulnerable from catcalling (many others have felt it differently; my point is, I am an example of someone who hasn't found it to be an exceptionally troubling or worrisome deal, so not "overly sensitive," as some like to dismiss women who feel otherwise). However, even unbothered me knows that walking down a busy street in a normal city in broad daylight is hardly a "dangerous" situation that "intuition" would signal you to avoid, even if you could. I'm an old man now, so none of this is true for me any more -- and I've never really had an interest in porn. OK, I've had a theoretical interest in it -- so I've read quite a bit of scholarship on the history of the industry and what have you. I enjoy the Rialto Report, but I've never been to Pornhub or any of those sites. They just don't do it for me, and they never have. The women don't look like real women. They certainly don't look like the kind of women I'd want to have sex with. And the sex doesn't look like real sex. The whole thing is just really offputting.
But I've been married for over 40 years, and before I got married, I never found it hard to get a girlfriend. Young men insist that the world is different today. Not really sure. But I do have a son in his early 40's. He has a wife and three kids. He didn't have a problem getting girlfriends either.
But I think the penis obsession thing is really a function of not having a girlfriend and not being able to have sex. Just as a starving man can only think about food, so men who are starved of sex might struggle to think about anything but sex. And even when they finally get a girlfriend, quite a lot of the time, they can't believe their good fortune, and so they're obsessed and determined to fill the larder while the stores have it in stock. Because who knows when it might go out of stock again?
And I'm not sure that it's just about sex or an obsession with penises. I think that's just a kind of shorthand for all of the stuff that goes with sexual intimacy. Closeness, affection, etc. I think young men just don't have the kind of vocabulary that allows them to talk about their needs in relation to that other stuff, so it all gets boiiled down to 'muh dick'.
The boat had already sailed in respect of courtship rituals when I started dating in the early 70's . You'd ask a girl out, and if she liked you, it was a fairly safe bet that she was going to have sex with you. If she didn't have sex with you, that was a fairly clear sign that she had no interest in you, so you wouldn't see her again.
