Inactive Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka - Deadbeat (emphasis on "Dead") founder of Something Awful, forced out of his own community, on his second divorce, stuck his dick in crazy, "Birth Giver"

I think early Lowtax had the right amount of drive and spite to give SA the foundation it needed. The articles, the rules, the spiteful way he accidentally monetized the site, and the way he would deal with lawsuits were all perfect.

The main issue is that Lowtax ran SA for like 20+ years but was pretty clearly sick of it after ~5 or so years. He was just too greedy and smallminded to find someone else to run it for him.
Cerium won the game here. Founded a money printer, found someone willing to tard-rangle said money printer, ducked and dodged controversy surrounding said money printer and then managed to cash out for multiples of what Lowtax eventually got.

I know people like to work out the complications, but it really is as straightforward as Lowtax signing his death warrant the moment he let trannies and furries run the community. There's no bones about it, trannies and furries just ruin everything they touch.

This is the lesson: never give any power to anyone whose chief end is to coom. They will destroy your website and destroy your legacy.

That and the fact that most women are not capable of thinking far ahead and planning things out. Really sexist thing to say, but it is true. That whole "Do men think about the Roman Empire?" trend that went around the web not too long ago really highlighted that women's minds are inherently different from mens in determining bigger concepts and not just focusing on what is currently in front of you. The women in Lowtax's life were perfect examples as well.

One of the things I found really interesting in Rich's love life is how each woman repeated the pattern that the previous one did in their relationship with Rich: they bought into all his bullshit, they attacked the previous girl and then they proceeded to call upon the previous girl for help when the relationship deteriorated with Rich.

Ashli spent her time with Rich bashing Megan. Then she proceeded to run to Megan for help when she wanted to leave Rich.

Logan immediately downplayed everything that Ashli accused Rich of, spent her entire relationship with him attacking her only to then proceed to immediately apologize when she needed to go after Rich when he decided to beat the crap out of her as well.

Just think about how revealing that is that the cycle repeated to a tee each time.
LMAO. Ethan Ralph thinks a lot about the Roman Empire.

Men who study Ancient Greek/Latin, the political dynasties of the republic and the empire, the philosophical treatise of Roman philosophers, etc.. make up 5% of men who “think about Ancient Rome” the other 95% are “gladiator fights are cool” or even day dream about being a gladiator a few times a week. Thank Ridley Scott and Total War.

As for Lowtax’s ladies.
Women who fall for a shitbag, with a known history of being a dirtbag, but think he will be different with them are very common. Just takes stupidity, amorality and low self-esteem. Ask Ethan Ralph’s wife. But I don’t think this applies to Lowtax’s wives, and only sort of to Logan Day. Maybe true for the different goonettes that it’s rumored he slept with over the years.

His first wife was a normal woman who had zero interaction with SA or the internet before meeting Rich. The Canadian wife also had no idea who he was, so I’m sure his “young failed marriage, tried to work it out but she was psycho” seemed believable given she only had his narrative to go on for a long time. I’d assume she only got real background on Lowtax after it was far too late. Still she seemed to genuinely want to help him but she didn’t have much choice. She was in a terrible predicament given she had a baby and had overstayed her visa, meaning she was really fucked and could easily be deported and banned from the USA and permanently separated from her daughter.

Logan Day otoh looked at Lowtax as a e-famous internet daddy that would raise her internet cred. She hoped to become the woman behind the “valuable, legendary, SA brand”, the incubator of early internet comedy! She was well aware of Lowtax being married with a small child and gave no fucks because she wanted an internet famous boyfriend, lots of attention and a “brand” to let her play girl boss.

It was at least an equal relationship in the sense that they were both using each other, he was using her for sex and she was using him for e-fame and job title. She probably thought the previous girls just weren’t cool enough. She otoh was a quirky, outrageous, edgy, misunderstood savant just like Lowtax. She thought of fucking Lowtax as a career move, as absurd as that may seem. He enjoyed having a young chick massage his ego and show feet. Might have worked out okay, for awhile, if they both weren’t severely mentally ill, narcissistic, and drunk/high most of the time.

Neither Lowtax or Logan were able to handle being adults, people like them usually find partners to leech off of and force them to deal with the pesky adult stuff they can’t be bothered with. It’s why their brief Union was such a hilarious shitshow.

Another thing I find hilarious is that he's probably the only person who offed himself after getting a thread here where you could make at least a marginally non-insane argument we had something to do with it, yet not a single person cared about him enough to put him on our kill list.

I like to think that Lowtax, as pathologically approval-seeking as he was (yet incapable of being halfway decent to anyone at the exact same time) would lurk this thread, and each mean comment about him pushing women down the stairs to protect them from the terrible secret of space brought his finger tighter and tighter around the trigger.

I'd like to think that fateful "bang!" happened while one of my posts was on his computer monitor, but that's just fanciful, wishful thinking.

To be brutally honest I don't think he gave a single shit about mean comments on the internet the guy founded something awful after all.

Responsibility for his actions is what made him pull the trigger.

Lowtax was super defensive and craved approval. Lowtax pulled the trigger because his ego was annihilated and he was utterly broke having squandered the one thing he was proud of in himself. (the two tied in together). Lowtax at one point scoured the internet looking for goons that said something bad about SA (like the frontpage wasn't funny or something) so he could ban them. Hell, the whole reason he flipped out about the mangosteen shit is because very mild and constructive comments sent him over the edge. Guy was a massive spaz despite founding Something Awful. Rich could dish it but not take it. Then when he needed the approval of his PC friends he couldn't really dish it anymore either.

Responsibility would have been getting a job and cultivating a relationship with his daughters.

I like to think that my $10 bought the bullet he used (I head 5-7 is expensive).

Lowtax was a thin-skinned little bitch who would mald for years at any joke made at his expense. He would fly into a rage any time anyone mentioned Mangosteens, over a decade after the incident. He inserted tracking pixels into his posts here in the hope that kiwigoons would quote him so he could find out who was being mean to him on part of the internet he didn't control so he could take revenge on them over at SA.

And he's still better than anyone currently posting SA.
