It seems to be more of a "last resort" type of thing. Ruben's been talking about and exposing pedophiles on Roblox for ages, in fact it's how his initial lawsuit from Roblox started because they really wanted him to shut up. Roblox has people actively monitor his twitter accounts every day, and he took advantage of this by tweeting links to inappropriate sex shit on the platform. That worked for a while, but as of this latest video Roblox seem to be using it to actively remove evidence from accounts shown to be pedophiles.
You don't have to agree with the solution, but what else can he do? He's been calling out the problem for years, and Roblox, the platform, will not fucking do anything. Your "solution" to just kick the children out of the games will not work because Roblox will, again not do anything. They are in another lawsuit for this and they are still doing nothing. All you really can do is waste the pedophiles' time.
Roblox even wants to add official virtual dating games in the future.
Roblox has to be one of the most incompetent children's game platforms in history, in terms of child safety.

I used to love playing Roblox but that was like 12 years ago. I was like 13 and a girl told me she was 16 so I pretended to be 16 to impress her or something stupid. I might be the only man who ever pretended to be older than I was on Roblox.
It was such a cool game and the idea of a game teaching it's playerbase how to script and make things was amazing. It's a shame it became such a blatant pedo nest along the way. I just hope it's something that happened to it after I left and not something that was always there I was too stupid to notice.

IGNs are also an easy way to attempt to get contact with people outside of games with limited communication tools, so some restrictions on that could be useful too, ie use random gibberish word names like xbox or leddit.
But a dev can never be a substitute for a careful parent. Not that roblox tries to.

Anybody else feel like the timing of that one twitter cancellation attempt on Reuben from a couple days ago makes a lot more sense now given the subject matter of this video? Almost like they got tipped off and were rushing to try and discredit him before the video came out?

But what is this meme video going to actually do? This type of video with its meme content and Ruben joking "Does he know what BBC means? He probably thinks it stands for British Broadcasting!" is all fine and dandy for joke/outrage content but it's not going to change anything substantial.
We need concerned parent/lawyer type who will do news interviews and talk about how Roblox is an unsafe platform. We need to get a politician who wants to score brownie points by showing voters how he cares about families. We need is lobbyist outfit that Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft will happily give money to because all three would love to see Roblox dead so kids stick with their platforms.
Roblox needs to be vilified so the corporate sponsorships dry up. And yes I recognize it won't kill Roblox anymore than it will kill Tiktok, but only stuff that will give Roblox's board a headache will actually change things in a substantial way.

They used to have a feature like this as did any kid-oriented game or games platform in the 2000s. It was called super safe chat - it was around for years. Eventually they scrapped it.
