Some people on that subreddit really do. I don't think it's everyone, but if you go on there and read the posts for a bit you can see there's a subset of a-logs that really want him to die and to be involved as well. Realistically though, he's gotten arrested because he took random YouTube comments as fact, so I'm not sure there's anything that can even really be done. If it's that easy to mess with someone people just will.
I remember seeing a post on the subreddit saying they all had to send child porn to Daniel so when the FBI looked at his devices he would have to go to jail. I don't get it.

Yup. They want him to die. If you remember that incident where he got into the fight with that store employee for kicking him out, these same type of reddit tards were in the call with him encouraging him to attack the man so they could watch the fallout.
They're not. They're just terrible people. They're using the fact that he said he's a pedophile to justify fucking with him, when really all they were looking for was a green light to fuck with someone anyway. I don't even care if he's a pedophile. He's a homeless schizo with no access to children and no ability to plan more than one step ahead. Someone like TheWhiteBowser is a lot more dangerous because he was (allegedly) actively planning on working with disabled children so he could molest mentally retarded little girls and they wouldn't be able to tell anyone about it. That was what that video from a little while ago was about. Someone on reddit sent him child porn, and he had his phone confiscated for investigation.

It’s absolutely against the rules. Many shelters don’t allow recordings because it already sucks enough to be homeless, having someone essentially breach the privacy and dignity of everyone there sucks more. Unhoused people are often discriminated against and shelters try be hush about who lives there.
Even if Colorado is a one-party consent state, there’s many places that are privately and publicly owned that you cannot record in.

And it's the usual Reddit/Twitter attitude of the ends always justifying the means. Even if the ends, as they are here, are of no value to anyone or anything. Who gains what if Dan freezes to death or gets shot by cops? Literally nobody and nothing.
But as MovieBob said "There are no bad tactics, only bad targets." Once someone is singled out by one of these communities as a Bad Person, there is no forgiveness, no actions towards them that are disproportionate. It's an attitude that has spread through much of the mainstream internet in the last decade. Once the community has designated someone as an UnPerson, there is no further need for self-reflection as to your actions. You have outsourced your moral reasoning to the crowd, so if what you do is wrong you are no longer responsible for it. And these people keep reassuring each other that these things are justified, mostly to assuage their own guilt, but the net result is a feedback effect of people egging each other on to worse and worse actions, assuring each other that it's justified.
I could go on a political rant about it but it would be off-topic, but I'm sure you can extrapolate this psychology to a broader context of how mass movements are the most likely to commit atrocities, even without a single charismatic leader, and both historical and contemporary examples of where this abrogating of your own moral responsibilities in favour of crowd psychology has led.
The fact that it's Kiwi Farms of all places, the supposed home of trolling and harassment and The Most Evil Site On The Internet (tm) that is pushing back against this and calling out and chasing off users who try to engage in it, gives me mixed feelings. On the plus side, I know that I'm in the company of people who still have their critical faculties engaged. On the minus side, we are a community under siege from people who don't, and nobody here knows how long we can hold out under the pressure. The future could be very dark.

I don't think I've ever seen a group of alogs that rampant, they actively want him dead on the reddit.
It's kind of fascinating seeing the difference in culture surrounding a non kiwi farms centered cow and a cow that's mainly popular on here first. The "community" surrounding Daniel are mostly a bunch of teenagers from reddit/tiktok vying for his suffering, and since he's a pedo and an elder abuser no one is able to guilt them into stopping. There's no rules stopping people from being involved, so everyone on tiktok actively try to find him, and people hate the current managers only because they at least try to keep him out of jail instead of telling him to go assault shopkeepers or some shit.
It's like the inverted version of people on the farms trying to protect chris chan before he fucked his own mother

It kinda is a generational thing. Most Kiwis (a bit of a generalisation, but culturally I think it's correct) are old enough that they remember a time before the internet, or at least a time before the internet became the monster that it is now. So we have that grounding, and were introduced to the internet later in our lives when we knew what reality was. So I think people my age and maybe a decade either side have this attitude that the internet and IRL shit are to be kept separate. We would go onto classic 4Chan or SA or PoE or Newgrounds or wherever and have this attitude that the internet was a playground there things didn't really matter all that much. SA's tagline was "the internet makes you stupid", on KF being "mad at the internet" is taking it too seriously. Because for most Kiwis the internet has always been this fenced-off thing, its own little world. You kept your online identity separate from your irl identity, that's really, really important.
I got my first broadband connection in 2002. People born that year are now old enough to drink in the US. For people of that generation, the internet has always been part of real life. Having a device in your pocket that connects you to almost everyone on earth and all of human knowledge is as natural as breathing and eating. It's hard to get into the head of someone for whom the world has always been this way. But for a generation babysat by iPads rather than the TV, there's no separation.
That's why Zoomers do things that we find so baffling. It's why they overshare. It's why they have no opsec. It's why they are baffled and frightened by internet anonymity and want to abolish it. It's why they think they have the right to say and do whatever they want without people making fun of them or being mean to them. For me, calling someone a nigger on the internet and calling someone a nigger in real life would be totally different things, I've done the former many times but I have never, and never will, do the latter. But if you consider online and irl to be the same thing, then being told "lol calm down it's only the internet" makes no sense. It's why they fear and hate KF so much, the fact we keep our opinions online isn't relevant to them, we have expressed wrongthink by chatting amongst ourselves just as if we chased them down the street calling them a faggot, even though almost none of us would dream of doing such a thing. And it's not cowardice the way they think it is, it's that most of us would consider that, well, rude, but calling someone a homo jew retard on the internet is just jokes, it's our own internet shibboleth, our way of speaking that is separate in the online space and has its own moral rules.
And it's why they are willing to cross those lines. Almost all trolling that spills over into irl harassment is from people who are so young they don't see any difference. The online identity and the irl identity are interchangeable, moving from one to the other is so seamless they don't think about it. When I saw someone on TV as a kid, they didn't seem real. People on TV weren't the same as people in meatspace. But if you grew up with the means to interact with anyone, at any time, seeing Dan Larson on Tik-Tok is the same as seeing him at the end of your street, and if you're a psycho, it means you can go and fuck with him in person.
What I'm saying is, these kids need to get off my lawn, I'm trying to yell at this cloud.
