Alibaba is where you get stuff at bulk. Taobao is for consumers in China and to a lesser extent Chinese that are abroad. You can usually get bulk pricing at Taobao too but you need to ask.For those that aren't too oriented with the subject: Taobao is kind of localized ecommerce site where TONS of different exporters get their products from; often much cheaper than Aliexpress or other resellers sites because you're having one middleman less in the project. It is Chinese-only but you can get stuff from there yourself, proven that you are capable of using Google Lens to translate security prompts or proficient in searching for something that isn't absolutely mangled by machine translation (infamous 'fuck the duck until exploded' fits within this realm).
AliExpress is the western facing version of Alibaba.
Then there's xianyu which is Chinese Craigslist/gumtree, a site where people trade used goods and locals only.
Pinduoduo is where you get scammed with slave products, or we know it as Temu.
Taobao uses Alipay and accepts credit cards such as visa/mastercard.
Taobao is only cheaper because essentially you're tax dodging and the companies there won't hire extra people who are fluent in a foreign language.
Edit:
To get stuff from there, you can simply use the myriad of personal shopping services or get a Chinese friend to do it. Convince him with a bag of rice and say "Ni shi sha bi cao Ni ma" which means "please help me buy stuff".

He's already a farmer, a rice farmer.Lol, if he becomes a real farmer, he will become a radicalized survivalist in no time like Wranglestar.
