Wasn't it supposed to have a nuclear plant design or something? Not going to comb through this thread, but I'm 100% sure Jet said at some point in the last few months that it was going to be the theme and hence the website design.

my impression from the 'year' section on the site is that they're trying to move through time, kind of like that opposite worlds show
 
Now I know why all the episodes were so bad, they spent the last few months making this amazing trailer.

Trailer was kino, song choice was perfect. I know we shit on the production team a lot for the timing of the season, but having the holiday season coincide with Fishtank, while terrible timing wise, sounds very comfy.

Maybe it’s just the Fishtank withdrawals kicking in, but Fishtank bros, we are so back. Just have to hope the contestants aren’t ass.

Good luck trying to censor episode 8 for YouTube. I actually forgot how thick Dontarius laid on the "nigga" lines and how uncomfortable everyone seemed.

Josie isn't featured prominently in the edits because most of the time she wasn't doing very much. That's it. It's not because Jet hates Josie or the other editors are Letty fans.

I just went to the FT thread on /bant/ to see if they were discussing the new season trailer and to maybe get some interesting takes. It's all Josie. Like 95% of the posts are about Josie, the other 5% are in German so I can't understand them.

The trailer is good because it is not made by Jet.
It seems like everyone but Jet knows what was funny during the live show.

There's just nothing to mine from. Like some people think Jet talking about narrative is bullcrap but you can see what he means better in this most recent episode - the narrative is a lot less tight and that leaves it feeling indulgent. They put in Josie's Bubba burger getting slapped around and moving Dontarius into her room instead of Urban Drumming because even though they're the slowest, worst moments of the episode they're the only times she peeked her head out and when they're down to 3 contestants they can't ignore her anymore.

I'll put money on this - in the final episode they'll do a greatest hits of Josie montage and it'll be her sitting, saying small comments, talking to TTS, trying to use that to explain why people liked her and how she got to the end. And then they'll try to do a montage of Letty and it'll be like a stock photo of a guy holding too much fruit.

as excited as i am about the holidays in the fishtank, i do wish the show ran during classes as it was the best procrastination tool/background noise in the world. although i guess there will be another one in april, allegedly?

You have me there, that was more boring than the Josie bits. It was interesting in a "rare footage" way though, and I liked seeing Sam doing his stream and playing with the duck toy.

Also, something I forgot to bring up but really wanted to discuss: I really liked how they used the basement footage of Vance with the nearby audio of Chris arguing with Jet. I thought it was actually really interesting BTS and we didn't get to see how Jet talked him down during the stream. I know that it being in the middle of Vance's interview was mostly an accident and they would probably have pointed the camera at Chris if they had been thinking of it, but it was artistic, somehow, to have to watch Vance politely trying to suppress his reaction to what was going on.

The argument that Chris should drop it all as a favor to Jet because if they went to court it would "ruin Jet's life" was very real but also insane.

Don't read this as me simping over Jet but it is very impressive that he was able to defuse that situation. I'm continually impressed at how they were able to get everyone on board with being assaulted, dealing with unsanitary conditions etc. without generating paperwork.

edit: Jon is coming for S2, it seems, but he is currently dying.

I hope he dies.
