A big problem with 4chan is that three-day bans aren't allowed to be appealed, yet a janny can ban you for literally any reason from all boards without recourse. 4chan prides itself on being more than "free" than Reddit but they really aren't.

Jannoids can't ban people, their power is limited to deleting your posts/threads without consequences or giving you a 15 minute postblock which forwards your "naughty" content to fag- I mean mods. Seen this in action multiple times, particularly on boards that allow generals.

I don't think this has been brought up ITT already, but it looks like the mods are working on some kind of moderation automation in regards to NSFW coom pics. If you upload a file that the "auto-janny" deems inappropriate, the post or the thread won't get created. I think this only applies to /v/ at the moment? I never post outside of /vst/ anymore, but there are sufficient posts in the /v/ archive complaining about it.

I think some images just get hashbanned for obscure reasons.
There's a specific image that DingDong from Oneyplays made way back where he and a bunch of friends trolled the creator of Scott Pilgrim. That's randomly banned. I wish I knew the story behind that one.

I think it'll be a good change to 4chan. I can't imagine it would be hard to set something up like this, all you'd have to do is Just collect the MD5's for any explicit image on rule34 or any other booru like it and you'll filter most porn pics out. I do hope this leads to stricter rules against porn outside of red boards, since shit-dick fetishists are some of the most annoying people on the site at the moment

Any anonymous site that allows VPNs/Tor unrestricted basically has their bans become completely unenforcable. There would be a fucking unstoppable tide of CSEM if 4chan let everyone use VPNs for even just a day.

It's not even exclusive to imageboards, I've seen another (way smaller) text-based anonymous site have to implement a custom anti-VPN script to turn on whenever there's a ban-evader, that makes a single report automatically ban any VPN user without moderator intervention—basically deputizing the entire userbase against them and declaring open season on even rule-following VPN users. Despite having this nuclear option, they still have to deal with persistent ban-evading groomers, some of which have been doing it for years. And again, that's for a much smaller community (100-200 online users peak).

4chan is beyond dead. I posted in a memeflag BBC thread on /pol/, I posted a bunch of AI pictures of pajeets shitting everywhere. I did this because someone on /pol/ came out and said that JIDF off-loaded their shilling campaign onto Indians (Who are huge Israeli dick riders) and I wanted to see if it was true. Well what do you know, the memeflag OP deleted the thread after only a few pictures. An hour later I get a week long ban for "off topic posting". Meanwhile all DALLE3 threads are getting purged well blatant 1pbtid porn spam on /pol/ stays up. And then DALLE3 gets majorly cucked to the point you can't generate anything because of the restrictions put on it, which shows these companies have eyes on /pol/ and adjacent sites to stop people from making wrong think images. Can't have 4chan getting creative again, oy vey! Remember what happened last time!?

The fucking Israeli/Palestine shit happens, the 1pbtid spam DISAPPEARS. Now after a few days the spam starts to re-appear from 1pbtid memflags. There's tons of spam threads breaking the rules on /pol/, not purged or banned. I make a thread about how I'm sick of hearing pajeets on twitter dick ride Israel. Banned instantly after posting for "Spamming".

I know it's stupid to say this late in the game that 4chan is dead. I knew it years ago. But holy fuck it really is dead. Josh was right. It's nothing but a honey pot full of bots at this point.
