It's not one thing in particular, it's Wu's obsession with femininity. Wu's drawn the same female characters for 20~30 years. Wu's fantasy world is all woman, literally not a single man. Even in the comics, Wu seems to have only lesbians. Wu has that Chrischan / Dobson weird, male-free lesbianism fetish to the point where John Flynt gave up his penis to be closer to Alisson Holiday.
Like, we throw around Buffalo Bill a lot at trannies, but Wu is quite honestly the most honest representation of that.

If you take the Buffalo Bill thing all the way, it actually sorta fits.
We know Wu has a drug problem that was serious enough to require rehab after he dropped out. We also know from what his classmates have said about him that he didn't remotely fit in and was seen as a freak. Suffice to say, he's been unhappy for quite some time, and had a lot of internalized hate. (Protip: happy people don't develop substance abuse problems)
Buffalo Bill's story in the book is all about how he's a self-loathing outcast who dreams of being something, anything else. He's not a real transsexual, he just believes that wishing he was a different person makes him one. All of his behavior from that point on is a desperate attempt to make real this new persona he's trying to fashion for himself.
But of course, none of that could apply to Flynt.

I agree on that, I just wanted to point out that the way she slags Frank on Twitter fits the mold really well. I argued one (or two) threads back, that Brianna Wu is just a 'slipping mask' my this point.

Only thing I'd say you are missing, something that might cement your point, is Wu's Teen Girl Squad take on life with the Election Eve novelization. Same great characters, even more cringe.

Actually, men do exist in SOCCON/Election Eve/Rev60. They just fall into one of three categories:
1. Undeveloped minor characters that exist to be emasculated or serve the women (one of the panels in your article features the house boy for Wu's fantasy sorority)
2. Accessories for the women (boyfriends that get mentioned or occasionally appear just to affirm how desirable her female characters are)
3. Obstacles to her women's objectives
Wu's views of gender and her misandry are every bit as fucked up as CWC's but she didn't have a legion of fake people pressing her for information for a decade.

The ultimate Flynt troll: a tall, blonde, skinny model who can pull off a passable scrotum ponytail sidles up to a drunken Flynt at some event, gets into a room with him and takes some incriminating photos/video before escaping. Bonus points if she asks him about that "ugly little Asian troll" and gets an earful of how he really feels about Frank before blasting it across the Internet.
The only thing better would be having a recording of Flynt asking Frank to fund another game.

Wasn't the original game done prior to crowd funding the PC port? Wu's apathy makes me think she never really gave a shit and the kickstarter was just a cash grab. He can still hang his hat on the ios release and the praise it got, but even he must have known a ported mobile game was destined to be mediocre on Steam. It probably only started fucking with the game files because criticisms of body portrayal reflected poorly on its feminist persona, and we know how much it cares about its crafted image. At some point maybe xe was deluded enough to think xe could just fuck with the lighting and spruce it up enough to pass as a PC game, but £$@'s astounding display of procrastination over two years seems to be more than just {★○} being a lazy shit with no work ethic.
