I see a lot of people are arguing about what is woke and what isn't and what that even means. Since I'm a Star Trek nerd I'll give an example of what it used to be vs what it has become. In TNG there was an episode where Riker meets some genderless race and falls in love with one of them. We even get a "fags great amirite?!" speech at the end. But in spite of all that they still chose a young pretty actress to play his love interest. She just had short hair. Despite the entire episode being a lecture about promoting faggotry, in the end they still realized nobody wants to actually see or imagine Riker getting balled out by some dude. So they chose a cute girl to play the genderless. To me that sums up 90s/2000s style wokeism. "Women's lib sure is wonderful, btw here's a shot of Troi and Crusher scissoring while they work out, here's Seven of Nine in a cat suit". Everything is dreadful now a days because that filter is gone. Being hypocritical to save your show/game gets you cancelled so people have to play along all the way down the death spiral.
Coming back to GTA it was similar. GTA has always had blacks, but they were portrayed according to the paintbucket theory of race. They were blacks written by upper middle class whites. So they thought and acted like upper middle class whites imagine they would; white people at heart with a shade of dark paint thrown on them. They were not unreasonable animals. You could argue Franklin is the whitest behaving character in gta5. With current year entertainment though thats all over. All the adults who were clever enough profess one thing and do another are gone and all thats left are true believers. So this trailer is intriguing because it hints that while trying to portray true blackness, the devs may have accidentally flown too close to the sun and will portray niggers in all their actual degenerate 70 IQ disgusting violent obese sheboon twerking on cars glory. Despite not wanting to "punch down", their own ideological zeal seems to have led them to accidentally creating one of the most authentically racist depictions of current year america.
I'm honestly not even upset. I find it hilarious that 100 years later, Birth of a Nation and GTA6 are in total agreement about how empanicpiated negros behave when removed from white adult supervision.

Please archive these people saying this before they lock their accounts, and also please look for their pre-Troll's regret era tweets if they've been on Twitter since the late 2000s/early 2010s. There's a few Rockstar employees that are like this and it should be archived.
I already archived it but that guy tweeted about Pedobear/4chan and said faggot a ton in the early 2010s. Not saying hypocrisy means anything anymore, but still.

Meh. When the Haitians complained after GTAVC came out, they just replaced them with Mexicans in VC Stories. What goes around comes around.
What irks me is it's not set in the 80s. Does anyone actually care about Miami these days? I can live with a Latina as the main character. Fine, have her climb to the top like Griselda Blanco and become La Madrina. But there is simply nothing in Miami right now that matters. Liberty City is NYC and will always matter. San Andreas is California and will always be culturally relevant. But Miami? It hasn't mattered since Miami Vice went off the air. And as bad as the radio stations in GTAV were with all those techno and house music and rap and mix stations, this is going to be just as vapid and forgettable. It's going to be nothing but current hits and Tropicales and reggae and rap and Trop country.

RDR2 came out in 2018. If GTA 6 comes out in 2025 that's 7 years between releases (not including remastered or ported versions of already released games or endless GTA Online updates). That's the longest span between major title releases.

Period pieces are the best way to do cities.
If someone is going to do a more modern GTA than Texas is the obvious setting to me. I also think Watch_Dogs 2 being set in San Francisco was a great idea, although badly executed.
