It would be hilarious if Caleb was secretly one of us and his whole show is secretly a front to show the world just how fucked up people are in their personal life in a subtle way. It’s very refreshing to see even normies favor TTD from the comments section. Caleb has a mostly Gen Z and millennial viewership too, which makes it even more surprising. I’ve been seeing a lot more based comments on Reddit lately too.

This kind of stupidity really annoys me. If they think they get rich with writing that means they already think they are good at writing, so why not learn something useful in the off-chance they don't get famous multimillionaire authors? They can still write in their free time, like a normal person with a hobby, and don't have to have their existence threatened when they don't get famous (like 99.999% of art degree students).

But being unemployed and not getting published because of bigotry in the publishing industry (or because you can't write a coherent sentence) even though you are absolutely qualified, because you got 3 art degrees (!!!11!!), probably gives a lot more oppression points than working as a nurse or office clerk who just happens to be a hobby author.

I took a creative writing course in college and I wrote video game fanfiction for every assignment and ended the class with an A. That's why I always laugh at creative writing majors/minors. This was before genderspecials infested every college campus, everybody in the class seemed normal from what I remember but the class was a complete joke. Everyone I knew took it for an easy A.

They actually taught a fanfiction module at the school where I got my MA. It was short lived but apparently the prof had everyone reading Frozen Elsa shit off Ao3... He was kind of our in-house lolcow.

Regarding the dumbass tranny 'I dunno what I wanna do with my phd', he clearly missed the obvious answer which is teaching. If you are doing a dumb humanities PhD and someone asks you 'but what are you gonna do with that', you say 'I wanna teach', even if it's not true. If they ask why, you say some shit about promoting an interest in literacy among children or some such bull. If you have a PhD from a decent school you can easily get a teaching job. It'll suck but it'll pay and if you're smart you might even get a position in a private school or academy. I grew up in a college town and they frequently enlisted staff/grads from the local Russel Group to teach when they were short staffed. The one net positive of a PhD if you put aside the wishy-washy pursuit of knowledge stuff is that you get teaching experience and in-built credibility without having to slog through the public school system as a trainee dealing with behavioural issues and tarded inner city kids chucking chairs at your head.

But ofc he doesn't wanna do that because it means not being able to do his favourite thing all the time, and that's not acceptable to him. He wasn't even willing giving up a $10/month spotify payment because it wasn't his favourite way to do things.

We had insanity this bad back in Roman times and Victorian times, we juat didn't have the internet to communicate it faster than ever. Humanity has always been batshit and some members are destined not to pass on their genes for obvious reasons.

The only difference between this grimey group of men and the past is their uniform. In the 70s-80s they might have worn the same amount of make up, but dress a bit different.

I wouldn't worry about it - humans have always been bad and have had worse, more genetically abnormal apples than the rest, but getting too doomer isn't healthy. Get some sun or some other way to get vitamin D, go talk to some nice person IRL, sit outside (with or without a blanket depending on your latitude) and watch some nature.

John Michael Greer had interesting takes and observations on that (and more!) on his blog yesterday. The short answer is that the civilization we exist in is declining and the state of religion/spirituality (and "rational" modern atheism which is just another faith) is following historical patterns noted by Oswald Spengler. We are in a Spenglerian "Second Religiosity". Which is a rising in spiritual seeking when things (specifically rationalism and in our case the faith in tech & progress) fail to deliver the happy utopias that were promised. And that spiritual seeking can head towards the dark. Often playfully and ironically at first, and then with full bore seriousness...
