Because hardly anyone who uses KF even knew who James Somerton was, and if they did they probably didn't like him. In contrast a lot of people here like IH and are extremely upset/offended at him being proven to be a plagiarist.

The funny part of all this (that a lot of people are glossing over) is that there's a lot of overlap between Hbomberguy fans and Somerton fans. The comments on the Hbomb video are full of gay and trans people saying "I backed Somerton's Patreon because I thought his videos were insightful, I'm mortified to now know I gave my money to a charlatan". If people had been just a little bit less defensive of IH this could've been a funny thread documenting the left having a meltdown and fighting itself.

I watch IH and Bomberguy. Have for years. I'm just -annoyed-, because almost every time plagiarism crops up, it's a repeat thing.
People are apparently dredging up bits about his concordia video being plagiarized too.

Fucking irritating. Like, I'm a writer, so- the whole thing is fucking galling to me.

That said, the important part of that video is, Fuck somerton. But also, fuck blaire. Watching her go up in flames a while back was cathartic.
(I am sad that Cinemassacre became a content mill. Rip my childhood).

For me one of the more irritating defenses for what IH did is the idea that, because its historical, there's only so many ways you can tell the story.
The only real constant are the facts while the shape those facts take in a narrative can be done a million ways. From documentary style reporting to constructing full narratives following specific people involved. Then you have the different structures and storytelling methods to go about it. You can tell the people arguing this don't make a habit of reading non-fiction novels and shortstories.

And then, as ever- the odds that by the time it's caught, it's usually been part of a trend. And if it *hadn't* been caught, it would continue to be a trend. Another part people miss.
Like, I *really* like Internet Historian, him and Internet Etiquette are stuff I just *consume*.


But, goddamn does this leave such a bad taste in my mouth. IH isn't even supposed to be the real point, but the more people bring him front and center, the more I actually get annoyed they're trying to give him a pass.

Mostly because people honestly do not care that he copied a decade old article that was sold to a content mill.
The top streamers and YouTubers steal content all day

What he did was wrong, and it's also on such a low tier of who gives a shit just like Hassan watching and uploading his 5th video of the day while adding no commentary and getting more views than the original.

One more detail over looked is the strange hypocrisy in his section 26 minutes in where he gets mad that Luke Stephens brought up he didn't like his Sargon video and takes it to mean the right wing is engaging in mass plagiarism of leftists as a form of culture war. Ill tell you what Luke meant by that Harris he was trying to seem centrist and balanced. By saying he liked someone of your videos it makes him seem less butt mad and saying he dislikes some its clues in to his audience that you have made mistakes before so its possible you are mistaken about this plagiarism thing. Not everything is about your politics Harris. This is even more ironic now that we know Blaire, IH, and Somerton were chosen for political and drama reasons and you can tell because he constantly has these random dunks on them for shit unrelated to plagiarism. A bit of a projection that his oppents are all plagiarizing out of some big political aim when Harris is the one who feels the need to make everything he does political and over edited.

This is why I think the whole thing leaves a sour taste in my mouth while the bobvideos plagiarism vid doesn't that video just lays out the evidence and says clearly why this sets a negative precedent no dunks on how someone is secretly a nazi or a my soggy knees ist and no need for a drawn out 2smart4U structure.

Pretty much, I'm more offended at finding out that HBomberGuy is much bigger than I thought, I pretty much ignored him years ago after processing he was a faggot with stuff like his hit piece on Mathew (I don't hate Dark Souls 2, but it's definitely not the hill I'd die on) and everything related to trannies, Metokur user that got a bad case of troll remorse and so on makes him kryptonite to me. Yet the fucker has millions of subs AND actual views, so it's real people consuming his content, and not just that, his fucking Patreon grew a pretty chunk after it.

These are the sorts of revelations that show me I live in a parallel reality, where this faggot and Jim "I'M PREGNANT" Sterling are doing fucking gangbusters.

YouTube pushes them a lot in recommended sections also fame leftover from before becoming faggots especially sterling who threw a tranny fit over losing subs after coming out as a tranny

Blocktube adds the block channel/block video options but even without an addon youtube still has the "don't recommend channel" function that does kind of the same thing.
I only use blocktube to kill the whole youtube shorts thing.

I use Blocktube to weed out extensions. Mainly to get rid of InternetAjay and other fags vaguely related to what I'm looking for.

Evidently, hbomberguy will now get on that list as well. I have never watched his content and given how insufferable he seems from the OP alone plus the numerous posts, I think I'm not missing out on much.
