Jirard Khalil / The Completionist / ThatOneVideoGamer - Obsessive Compulsive Autist involved in a $780k case of charity fraud

Why does he bring up that the charity was audited in 2016? How is that relevant to anything that anyone has claimed? Mutahar and Karl Jobst claimed that the money raised from the PBD West Convenience cup isn't accounted for once the Tiltify and Syzygy are added up since they basically match the totals.

Remember: even if the golf tournament lost money it's revenue should still be counted alongside it's expenses.
deflecting tactic.

he said a lotta bullshit without actually saying anything, and his simps ate it up

I think Muta and Karl brought up a very serious point, why was the money not donated yet? All Jirard had to do was say "We're raising more money so we can control what happens with it" and I don't think anyone would have had anything against it, other than being pissed they were lied to about money already going to charities.

Is it better to wait a bit and make sure the money doesn't go in the doctor's dick implants or something? Definitely, but don't fucking lie about it.

I do think Muta and Karl jumped the gun quite a lot with the stealing & etc without any actual evidence other than adding up the sponsors for the golfing event and scratching their heads about the twitch subs and donations. Golf is something normally associated with rich people(at least where I live), so I assume the tournament was quite expensive, hard to say what revenue they even had left for the actual charity. There's expenses, people you need to pay, it's not like you can do it all for free. I also think snitching to the IRS is the gayest thing you can do. My friend has a grocery store and our IRS literally fined her for a price sticker falling off a product in front of the agent because every product on display has to have a price.

Jirard is already successful. Even by their calculations, there's very little actually missing. Why would he need to commit fraud for so little money? The previous frauds people from that sphere uncovered actually benefitted the fraudsters quite greatly. This all seems like too much effort and risk for what he probably earns in a few months.

He should come up with a full explanation of all expenses and revenue and transparently show to the public where every single penny went. I don't want every receipt for every gum, but a total of "$XXXXXX for other expenses related to event organization, salaries, etc" and other generic descriptions like that should already exist in the tax filings, so they just need to ask their accountant to make a google sheet.

He is incredibly retarded for threatening a lawsuit. People will just hate him more. The lawsuit will probably not do anything, Muta has the money to fight back and defamation is not easy to prove.

Now indie games will have one less event(which is kinda good tbh, most indie games suck ass and are just about muh feels), less money will be given to research because he'll stop collecting it, and most likely nothing will happen to Jirard in terms of fines, jail, etc. If he does get fined, it'll just be the normal IRS abuse rather than fraud.

I know I might seem like a completionist fanboy & defender, but I've only seen his GTASA video and I'm actually a pretty big fan of Muta, if anything I have an autistic bias towards him not Jirard. I watch every single one of his videos, I also archive them using tube-archivist, and when he says "Hello ladies and gentlemen, It's me Mutahar" I say "Hello Mutahar, it's me ladies and gentlemen"

If he actually committed fraud I don't want him to get away scott free, but simping and snitching for the feds is worse than charity fraud. The IRS steals more money from people daily, in fact they steal so much they even give some of it back once a year.

since his dad was prob the mastermind and jirard the face of it..seems little effort on his part

and if any of the family stuff is true, seems on par with scummy shit his dad would do.

and seems like an okay grift...they weren't caught for 10 years, and prob could've kept it going indefinitely without the exposal. If the feds didn't detect it back then, they slipped under the radar

Karl is also making a response. This one is in a week, though I'd assume that's more sponsor-related than anything else.

There was half a million dollars unaccounted for.

I hope Jirard’s next charity project is the Closed Pool Foundation, because that response video gave me AIDS. Threatening a lolsuit while literally shaking with soyrage, emotionally manipulating his audience by implying that his family is in le danger because a speedrunner (with an Asian wife) called him out… amazin

Big "this politician is already rich why would they take bribes and be a corrupt fuck" vibes in here.

I just have to remind you the site is for adults, where are your parents?

He hadn't given any money to research until Karl and Mutahar made their videos, and considering it's been 10 years I don't think he would have started anytime soon if left to his own devices.
Granted, he did mention in their interview that if he had donated the money immediately after being contacted, it would look bad, they also didn't interview him 5 minutes before the videos went up. Jirard has no excuse for why that money stayed in the account for so long.

That's the weirdest thing to me. He just kept the money for years and expected anyone looking at it not to find it strange. When he said he found out a year ago, perfect, donate it. Except he didn't, and I'm forced to assume he's been living off it.

“I had nothing to do with the golf charity, other than be physically present, swing a few rounds, get photographed, and give a speech!”

Holy shit I watched this again and the dude is straight up gaslighting
"The golf event hasn't always contained a charitable component"

But the event has claimed to since at least 2011.

"Expenses for the golf tournament are a heckin lot, like craft and catering services"

Yeah, craft and catering services that are typically covered by your sponsors.

2021

2019

(These are only two examples but these signs appear most years).

In fact, it's amusing that he tries to play the victim by bringing up the expenses for the golf cup and Indieland, considering Indieland also has expenses covered by sponsors. Before the call with SOG and Karl, Jirard would claim that expenses not covered by sponsors would come out of his own pocket.

But as we know, Jirard later claimed that funds raised by Indieland were used to pay for expenses (with him claiming that it was only a "few thousand").

Not to mention, for the PBD Cup, sponsors would also cover the prize money for the hole in one contest, raffle prizes, and auction items.

It ultimately calls into question how much they pay in expenses themselves.

"Covid led to smaller attendance in 2020 and 2021"

Which would only affect raffle ticket and auction sales. Sponsors still paid thousands of dollars to sponsor the event (and there were plenty of sponsors in 2021 and 2022).

"I only attended the event and spoke a few times"
Yeah, the event held by your father for his company that's housed in the same building as yours. The company that your brother, the COO of your company and your "money man", has a prominent position in. For the charity that you and your family run.

Also it's not like @SaidNoOneEver pointed out that they marked the expenses for their golf tournament in 2022 in the original Completionist thread.
21.jpg
Aw shit, whoops, they did. So they spent 5,236 dollars in expenses for the 2022 PBD Convenience Cup.

For reference, let's calculate an estimate of how much the PBD Cup earned in 2022.
2022sponsors1.jpg2022sponsors2.jpg2023_Event_Sponsorship_PBD_March_13th_1.png

We have 2 diamond sponsorships, 3 platinum premiere sponsorships (which are probably worth more but I will count as platinum sponsorships), 1 platinum sponsorship, 3 titanium sponsorships (which are probably equivalent to silver sponsorships based on titanium sponsorships being more than twosome and single player sponsorships but less than platinum), 2 twosome player sponsorships, and 3 player sponsorships.

So that's 2(8,000) + 4(7,500) + 3(3,000) + 2(1,500) + 3(750) = 60,250.

This is probably an underestimate considering we don't know how much titanium and premiere platinum sponsorships are worth (they could be worth more). The point is, the amount they possibly earned, 60,250, is way more than how much they paid in expenses, 5,236 (They probably earned more too, because this isn't factoring the amount earned from raffle ticket sales, auction money, and money earned from contests like the hole in one contest. If they're willing to use charity funds from IndieLand to cover expenses, then I wouldn't be surprised that they use charity funds from the Convenience Cup to cover expenses as well.
