No joke, I have been in conversations with rabid feminists about this. For basic context, I’m very involved in sports, training, etc etc.
They were complaining about how no one cares, and I being an actual follower of some women’s sports asked if they knew any notable women athletes. Not a single name except that Black chick who got held in Russia for a bit until I brought some up. No powerlifting legends like Stefie Cohen or Tamara Walcott, no fighters like even Rhonda Rousey or Cris Cyborg, no bodybuilders like Rachel McLish, not a single name of a woman who is a respected athlete in her sport.
The point of this is that it’s not an issue of people hating women, all those names above and many more are highly lauded by people like me who love the game, but an issue of people actually caring to watch. People don’t ignore women’s sports because sports are for men only, they don’t watch because one, the women themselves choose different people to look up to and respect, and two, yes by nature of biology the most impressive thing to an average viewer is what the men can do. For example, women’s grappling has magnificent specimens like Yvonne Duarte, but compare her to the freaks of nature in mens heavyweight divisions. She’s a fucking amazing player, but you have to know more about the sport than the average person to understand what makes women like her so outstanding. Compared to giants like Mijaín López in Greco, who do you think the public is going to gravitate towards?
