I think it's because the Big Three are Western - if they gain independence it would upset the political order practically (new governments are a logistic pain) and mentally by killing the idea of WW2 as the End of History (meaning no changes on the map). I've never seen any Westerner truly care about those other non-Western places you mentioned. Also as of now a sovereign Quebec, Scotland, or Catalonia wouldn't help the elites at all so they don't care.

Well, too Latin - that is, South European. Everyone knows Tolkien loved North European/Germanic culture, it doesn't surprise me he tried to cut Latin words out of his writing. Makes sense, Latin-derived words are so modern and science-y they can be out of place in fantasy.

It's specifically because it's French in this case. Tolkien never forgave the Normans for coming over and wrecking his beautiful Germanic English with their filthy tongues and it started long before he started writing a history for his languages. In his student days he felt he embarrassed himself for using the word 'human' in an after school debate on language. So not so much being too science-y for fantasy but because his works are supposed to sound like something from pre Norman Britain. I recommend this book about Tolkien's early days. Come for the sperging about developing a language to better retell an obscure Finnish edda, stay for the honestly heart breaking story of a group of young scholars chewed up by the war.

Also the "No man may kill me" prophecy was originally different but Tolkien reread MacBeth and thought the 'No man of woman born' loophole was fucking bullshit and he could do better than that hack Shakespeare, who he already considered the greatest criminal in history for bring Continental (French) poetry styling to Albion's shore.

To be fair, TIK has gone off the rails recently. I don't really mind the lolbertarian stuff, but "the Nazis and Soviets were both part of a millenia-long Gnostic conspiracy" bent he's been on and the clear stress his workload is causing has me worried he's on the brink of a complete breakdown. Good thing they don't have guns in Bongland.

he didnt say it was a conspiracy
he said socialism has gnostic roots because gnostics believed every person is a shard of God and only an elite priesthood can interpret God's wishes so everyone should follow their orders, which is identical to how communists/nazis say every person is a cell in the Collective/Volk and only the politburo can interpet its wishes so everyone should follow their orders

Fredda outright acknowledged that the 3% "myth" is factual in his video, but claimed that it isn't "true" because people supported the Revolutionary War in spirit.

That or he read out the source that admitted it was factual, but didn't think about what he was saying. I can't remember. I can't watch the video again.

Fredda is a Breadtuber disguised as a Historytuber so he makes videos on things you'd expect someone like that to create.

In other news, someone made a video talking about "plagiarism" as it relates to History Youtube. No doubt this was inspired by what hbomberguy did.

As I understood it the gnosticism of Fascism, National Socialism or Marxism and etc. is unconscious. As in people have Gnostic beliefs without realizing it.
Hitler may not have actually believed he was fighting an evil creator god but his ideology had its distant origins from people who did.
