Sega - It's more than just Sonic Autism

Also I wouldn't get too excited, Sega has been pushing weird as fuck ideas for these reboots, such as incorporating NFTs(which they've probably backpedaled on, and making them "live service".
I always focus on the shit ruining the narrative that I forget the monetization troubles...

I was looking it up and it looks like the new Golden Ax plays more like Beast Rider. A real shame because a Golden Ax that plays like Souls would be interesting. A lot of the strategy and decision-making you make while playing OG Golden Ax is similar to a Souls game. There's even fucking skeleton warriors.
Can we not just turn every fantasy game into a Souls-like?

Can we get Ristar sequel now please?
Yes, but it's going to be a Souls-like.

Souls-like

Given their ESG thirst they probably would have rebooted those franchises into something very similar to Hyenas.

I think the Hyena shit scared them a little, so we'll see what happens going forward. They still did a bunch of shit in the Persona 3 Remake that's scummy; like hiring niggers to voice practically everyone - at least last I saw there was like three or five characters voiced by a nigger instead of the OG - which doesn't make sense because they should have been going after Japanese American VAs if it's about representation, they removed some of the more scandalous stuff from the original era, they're introducing cringy positive LGBT themes when those were usually played for laughs... etc. That said that could just be Atlus, too, they've been infected for awhile now on the localization front.
They replace every character with niggers, make niggers voice everyone, but if you even post a reaction image on Twitter featuring a nigger then you're engaging in "digital blackface". I hate these libtards so much...

Guys... If sega is doing the Dreamcast era, I think it's time for Sega's best game to come back

Seriuously though, where the fuck is Space Channel 5!?!?!?

A revival of some of these older franchises at least seems refreshing on sega's part considering for the past few years many fans have just been doing it themselves so a kick in their asses at least put them in the right direction. JSR is one of my favs but I'll look with caution. Game always was about rebellion against authority alongside the free skating tagging parts and that can get pretty hamfisted. The music we can at least look forward to.

>How can we make Virtua Fighter more dramatic
HHHHHMMMMMMMM Truely a mystery. Isn't there another "realistic" fighter that's currently going on to it's 8th version and has been doing well for itself? Big Thunk Moment!
Tekken is popular cause every broke nigga had a scratched copy of T3 or played Tekken tag in bar. Not cause it's realistic or even on that great series considering the many fumbles it has.

Also despite VF being a fairly good 3D fighter it's niche because it's completely vanilla to the point of where you barely care about the character's names alongside it's overall cheesiness. Though some consider that a positive and fits a role for a more grounded 3d fighter that absolutely won't sell to the average combo cutscene brained modern FG faggot. All they have to do is port it correctly and they couldn't even do that right.

Am I the only want that wants SEGA to revive the SEGA GT franchise of racing sims? Or Metropolis Street Racer?

I’d die for a SEGA GT 2024.
I don't think Sega could bring back Metropolis Street Racer even if they wanted to since I don't think anything about the game except for possibly the title belongs to Sega. The studio behind the Metropolis Street Racer/Project Gotham Racing franchise, Bizarre Creations, was shut down over a decade ago and I'm not sure if Microsoft still owns what's left of the Project Gotham Racing IP.

But, yes, I would love a new Project Gotham Racing.

As for Sega GT, I never got around to playing that one on Dreamcast and have only played a little bit of the XBox version.

They could have rebooted half of their franchises instead of making Hyenas.
That would have been nice. But they also could also have done absolutely nothing with any of them, which is what they and everyone else usually do. Trailer is more hype than GTA6, even more hype than a full-priced 1:1 remake of Super Mario rpg. Maybe the games will be no good, but you Negative Nellies probably said SoR4 looked like a woke flash game from the 1st screenshots, so we'll see. I can't really yet complain when Sega's doing pretty much exactly what I would request. All this AND Air Twister (Yu Suzuki's unlicensed Space Harrier sequel), what a time to be alive.

Apparently this whole thing is one guy's idea, so if their annual report is anything to go off of, we'll most likely see more IP's popping back up if (and that'a a BIG if) these 5 games do well.

Didn't they do a semi remake/graphical overhaul of PS on one of the collectors
PS1 is fine, it's PS2 that needs help. I haven't tried all the alternate versions but I can't see how any of them could fix it.

It's like I keep saying, we're in a golden age of video games and there is no reason for any reaction but boundless optimism. Still, note that they killed off the Sega Ages line, with no PC ports, around the time they were making this powerpoint. So much for the Remake pillar!

I think so, which is neat, but a full-on remake would be nice, like Super Mario RPG (though I think it would need more changes than that game did, mainly the first-person dungeons would need to go or be extensively overhauled imo).

I can usually read sarcasm well through text but I'm not sure here lol

Can we not just turn every fantasy game into a Souls-like?
Because Souls IS the 3D equivalent of those oldschool 2D Beat 'em Ups you absolute goober. It's the same fucking game design (tm) principal: it's all about understanding enemy patterns, look for openings and control the mobs of enemies. The duo boss fights are right out of Souls and could be argued inspired the mobs of skeleton enemies AND the Gargoyle fight ANDDDDDD Ornstein & Smough!
