Sega - It's more than just Sonic Autism

My biggest concern with Jet Set Radio is the music. Aside from the art style, it's what gave the game it's identity. Same with Crazy Taxi. I hope to hell it's nothing like that god awful video trailer song, otherwise they're both fucked.

The other 3 I will hold reservations till more footage is shown.

I'm interested in the 2D Shinobi. The Crazy Taxi and JSR ones look fine. The Golden Ax 3D game showed off the absolute least but I don't expect much.
Unless if these games end up being tainted by Sega themselves like they always do

I was looking it up and it looks like the new Golden Ax plays more like Beast Rider. A real shame because a Golden Ax that plays like Souls would be interesting. A lot of the strategy and decision-making you make while playing OG Golden Ax is similar to a Souls game. There's even fucking skeleton warriors.

or a Dynamite Headdy sequel in addition
Isn't that a Treasure owned property? They could just release a sequel without Sega's approval
>How can we make Virtua Fighter more dramatic
HHHHHMMMMMMMM Truely a mystery. Isn't there another "realistic" fighter that's currently going on to it's 8th version and has been doing well for itself? Big Thunk Moment!

Never got around to playing the Crazy Taxi sequels, this'll be the first one I pick up since the original. Jet Set Radio looks great too.

They could have rebooted half of their franchises instead of making Hyenas.
Given their ESG thirst they probably would have rebooted those franchises into something very similar to Hyenas.

I think the Hyena shit scared them a little, so we'll see what happens going forward. They still did a bunch of shit in the Persona 3 Remake that's scummy; like hiring niggers to voice practically everyone - at least last I saw there was like three or five characters voiced by a nigger instead of the OG - which doesn't make sense because they should have been going after Japanese American VAs if it's about representation, they removed some of the more scandalous stuff from the original era, they're introducing cringy positive LGBT themes when those were usually played for laughs... etc. That said that could just be Atlus, too, they've been infected for awhile now on the localization front.

I wonder what the fuck happened to them. They released their last game circa 2014 and then just vanished. They still exist as a company but all they do is rerelease Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun.
They said that they were working on a "highly requested game" around 1.5 years ago but not a word since...
E: and that might just have been the Radiant Silvergun rerelease (:_(

Streets of Rage 5 better be good. I was content to let things rest a nice long while after 4's sudden success.

Same for Jet Set Radio. Honestly, much as I wanted it back and happily shocked I got my wish, it's been so long I was and am worried a new entry would taint the franchise forever. JSR is from a happier time. I'd hate to see it ruined.

Am I the only want that wants SEGA to revive the SEGA GT franchise of racing sims? Or Metropolis Street Racer?

I’d die for a SEGA GT 2024.

their console/pc business is not doing well either. its like they're still stuck in the Genesis era. they keep releasing Genesis games compilations, its like have they not realized that they also made Saturn and Dreamcast?
The problem is that the reason ports come to PC is it relies a lot on nostalgia. Sega Genesis has a lot of nostalgia, even games like Doom 64 and Turok: Dinosaur Hunter are memorable enough that they can make ports and sell copies. On the other hand, not many people remember the Sega Saturn to begin with, especially since most first-party games (like Policenauts) weren't localized. Most of the Dreamcast titles were already ported (though not great ports) years ago. Admittedly, not all of them, ChuChu Rocket! never got a PC port, but again, porting Policenauts and ChuChu Rocket! is not going to really save Sega.

They've ceased to exist as a legitimate developer. Treasure now is like one guy keeping it alive with outsourcing to other developers.

These games have been in development for as long if not longer than hyenas, they're also all a part of the "Super Game" project, like hyenas was iirc, but it's kinda weird they're announcing them now because the projected release date for them was 2026.

Also I wouldn't get too excited, Sega has been pushing weird as fuck ideas for these reboots, such as incorporating NFTs(which they've probably backpedaled on, and making them "live service".

According to this they've become a VERY small company over the years to where they have less than 10 employees working at the company, so it's probably why they only do re-releases now.

Their Twitter is active though, but it seems to consist of advertising bundles including soundtracks
