Jobst loves getting sued; that way, he can keep getting money from his GoFundMe. 200k in a year for this. Wonder how much of that is ACTUALLY going to his defense. Shame that HIS financials aren't public.
That's not an admission of Charity fraud. It is an admission of incompetence, which is, as always the simplest answer. Having worked with charities, restricted donations are, in fact a mother fucker, and even assuming he has slaves doing g the bulk of his completionist work, he has a metric fuckton of stuff. Most likely that the charity never had someone whose full job was actually getting things done when paying the bills of the board members was more important (via whatever their real jobs were) add that on top of the idea that they can do a restricted donation for a paltry amount like 600k, and they likely made efforts, and when those fell through (UCSF, which I heard denied the donations as it would go to general funds at that level) and then let it sit while trying to find the next places to go to. And used weasel words like "worked with" whenever he discussed the charity. No evidence that he was planning to steal the money, or anything like that. So he fucked up, but not in the way people seem to think.
Jobst and Muta are going to ride this for all its worth. Because Jobst especially can't let it stick to the things he can prove, which is that Open Hand hadn't donated yet. Instead he keeps implying ulterior motives, in order to bait nastier responses because it drives engagement. Yellow journalism at its finest.
Ok, so he admitted to the same shit he already admitted to in his video? What does this add exactly? Sounds like a guy who is a) an idiot for talking to an outrage merchant in the first place b) utterly incompetent and c) is trying to figure out the best way to fix the damn thing. Dude should have assumed he was being recorded in either case.

Can't quote but if Jirard is on the board he has a legal responsibility, he can't just shrug his shoulders and claim he didn't know. Whilst you may not be able to say he was going to steal the money, doesn't change the fact it sat there for years when he specifically told people it was being donated, and they conveniently found an organisation to send it to a few days after it was discovered.

You lose the right for that excuse when it's been a decade. You can't tell me that a director of his own organization was so retarded he didn't know anything was happening for 10 years with him admitting that he was aware of it for two of those years.

Considering the fact that Jobst brought to light actual true information, who gives a fuck? Ever heard of the expression don't shoot the messenger? Yes, the fat arab did in fact lie to his viewers on his 'fundraiser' livestream. There is just no way around that fact. It goes way beyond 'incompetence' - he said things that were clearly not true; and his 'apology' is just 'I am sorry if you were offended' which isn't an apology at all.

This is like I said earlier. Even after all is said and done, people are still going to try to talk themselves into thinking they weren't conned and Jirard was always legit.
Even if you sat these people down and let them listen to Jirard contradict himself 1000x, they would still find some way of saying their e-daddy was right.
Welcome to YouTube? I made the exact same comment about Mutahar. People grift the hell out of outrage. It's just what's done because it's effective.
People used to talk about things they enjoyed--movies, videos games, hobbies, etc. Then, when they become famous, they start talking about other YouTubers. Nothing about Jirard's coverage strikes me as altruistic people trying to scrub YouTube of undesirables--it's all just tabloid coverage of an ongoing dumpster fire. Outrage won't impact the inevitable outcome, but at the very least leads to very funny and useless gestures from lolcows like lame-ass apology videos. Apology videos that aren't even real apologies and only further show just how stupid these creators think their audiences are to buy into it.

It was a Kickstarter yeah for some VR opera of some sort. He took the money and ran, people started criticising him for taking the money and running and he kept making excuses til the point of just going radio silent and now has no social media presence and deleted his Xitter.

Ignorance of the law is not a defense. Also, Jirard became aware the money was sitting there in 2022, yet in 2023 he continued to claim every penny was being sent to charities. He fucking lied. Something I'm curious about are collab videos like this. Not sure what Caddicarus was thinking, but then again this was produced 2 months ago, before all this shit with Jirard went down.
What I'm wondering is how many collab videos from other creators will be taken down or unlisted in the coming days.
