I personally would suggest to ban any underage to have any access to the Internet as a whole, this fucking thing is too cursed for a underdeveloped mind such as the one of a child/teen no matter how much sterilization it gets. In all fairness I don't think it should be the entirety of the internet, rather kids should be able to have access to a very sanitized version of the net (and obviously under watch by their parents, parenting by the internet is what led to this whole clusterfuck to begin with) for educational content and occasionally for child-friendly entertainment, while also promoting creative and constructive hobbies such as art, writing, etc.

There are no alternatives for watching and parenting your own child which is what many of these older generations don't seem to understand. You want to calm down a child by giving them access to literally anything and everything on the web? You get the result of your child being a hypersexual dysfunctional person who can't even act in society. There has to be a pushback against this eventually, and one that doesn't involve heavily censoring the internet for everyone like what is happening on YouTube and other platforms so far. Personally I think letting your child just use the internet without regulating their usage nor monitoring them should constitute as child neglect.

A good thing to do would be to keep your child from posting anything by not giving them accounts. Read-only, no stumbling into Discord servers to get groomed. Solves half of the problem instantly. Combine that with DNS blocks and light monitoring, and you'll most likely be fine. At age 14 or whatever, you can teach them how to set up an email and use a password manager while lecturing them on how to be a responsible computer user.

Kids on the Internet these days would benefit massively from seeing KF's registration page alone.

Yeah, I honestly think that would be the most feasible way to protect kids while avoiding censorship issues. This may sound extreme, but I think that every time you access the internet you should be required by law to show an ID proving that you're 18+ and verify by phone as an extra precaution. Porn should be 21+ only and there should be a system that alerts your employer and the police if you've entered a pornographic website. Shame was a good deterrent to porn use before the internet, and we need to bring it back -- plus this will help the police catch pedophiles and viewers of non-consensual porn.

We need to go back to how it was in the 90s with no smartphones and only one computer per household in a public area. If kids use the computer, it should only be pre-installed, non-internet-reliant software like word processors, spreadsheets, calculators, graphic design / digital art programs, educational software, and MAYBE a few simple games.
