reality is that people getting charged and prosecuted for ddos shenanigans is extremely rare. most legal and cop boomers are like "dee-doss? what's that?" and the few who know what they're dealing with consider it little more than annoying pranks done by obnoxious script kiddies who are not worth the governments time and resources to prosecute. it's not like they're hitting government infrastructure or damaging corporate interests here, they're just being a nuisance to a minor gossip forum nobody cares about.
the exception is when they manage to catch the people who actually run and control the botnets used for ddos attacks, and who do it commercially. at that point it is essentially a criminal enterprise which often involves a lot of money and that is something the feds actually are interested in. but as far as we know LFJ is not operating his own ddos botnet, in fact we barely know anything about the source of the attacks, our best guess is that butthurt trannies occasionally pay a couple hundred dollars (probably in crypto) to some anonymous darknet person who then points his botnet at the kf servers for a few hours/days. that's way too small for anyone in a position of power to really give a shit about. feds might be interested in hitting the botnet operator himself, but those guys take opsec seriously and are hard to catch. could be anywhere on the planet.
prosecuting LFJ for allegedly ordering a few thousand dollars worth of ddos services (which we do not have any real proof or hard evidence for) is not something that is likely to happen. no law enforcement professional will look at allegations like that and decide "yep, this is worth launching a major cybersecurity investigation into!"
