How many laws introduced by Republicans to curtail "anti-Semitic" speech, crush BDS and protect Israel?
It isn't a defense of the democrat party to say "but the other side is awful!" and pointing out that the other side is awful doesn't invalidate the criticism of the other side. The news update that brought me back to this thread was Alex Jones.

We could have a larger discussion about the merits of both political parties and how the Republican's dicksucking of Israel despite its many war crimes is bad -- but the problem is, that isn't the subject. The subject was "Democrats are getting really bad about wanting to censor the internet." The point about Republicans cucking themselves for Israel is otherwise totally unrelated.

Alex Jones is a cow, but he's a cow who has pissed off countless billionaires who collectively control the vast majority of the internet. If the poll was affected by bots, it was not in his favor.
It is if the argument is about who to vote for, whether to vote for anyone at all, or whether to "throw away" your vote on a third party. The argument is about who is worse, and whether it's even worth the vote if both of them are horrible beyond belief.
I think he's kind of a piece of shit and it's absolutely contemptible to try to make money by hurling random accusations that people who lost their kids to a murderous autist's rampage faked their own kids' deaths, an atrocious lie, resulting in people already dealing with the tragic death of their children also getting showered with death threats and lunatic harassment from his dipshit followers.
I'm not telling anybody who to vote for. I'm making a critique of a one party based on what they do and what they say. It's just a simple statement of fact that the American Left, or at least the establishment political wing of it, has become brazen and open about their desire to censor and control speech, and the internet in particular.

Whenever I see this stuff I think the reasons given are just excuses. Some of the smarter people in Europe are realizing that they completely fucked up by relying on silicon valley instead of developing their own tech companies like the Chinese did. It means that your digital marketplace is completely controlled by large corporations in another country, and you are 100% at their mercy. It might be too late for them to develop their own alternatives, but they are desperate to reduce their dependence on US tech companies - kind of caught between a rock and a hard place there.
