I highly doubt it.
When James was a grown-ass man in college, he:
1. Believed some random guy on the internet was Steven Spielberg
2. Filmed himself and his buddies trashing a dorm room and then freaked out when they got in trouble
3. Tried to commit suicide by laying face down in two inches of water at the shore of the beach

That's Chris-tier behavior and if James had parents as lazy as Bob and Barb he'd be making hilarious bad movies starring some Sonichu-esque character and would shove a camera up his ass because Steven Spielberg told him to.

James is such a noncow, gotta fill up the thread by saying how much worse he could've been until the next video drops so people can obsess over his hair.
idk why this is getting negrated, it's a factual description.

the autistic cult of james-hate is far more intriguing than james himself. james himself is uhhh a successful youtuber from a bygone era who still puts out good content occasionally. and i guess was a weird kid / in special ed, and now is balding... and apparently has a cringe dad-band i only know about from reading this thread.

he's quirky i guess, and his "review" style definitely became a meme, but as a person he's not that compelling. far more interesting is people who apparently grew up obsessing over him and now redirect their frustrations at their own barren lives into nitpicking their childhood idol and channeling rage at him for... idk, being mediocre at times?

actually the one thing i might "whiteknight" james for is how manfully he managed the ghostbusters bullshit. maybe someone more versed in the lore can correct me but as far as i could tell he handled an npc dogpile better than anyone i've ever seen... by simply ignoring it, taking the "how is cyberbullying real" tweet to heart and just refusing to engage.

Because the speculation is funnier than the average nu-AVGN video. I honestly don't think James is a lolcow, but he has lolcow traits and his autobiography that he claimed he spent 20 years writing and shilled for years and years (and rejected by several publishers) tells some hilarious stories.

James hate and love are both pretty autistic, let's be honest. But I agree they are the most interesting thing in the "AVGN sphere".

Like, you can just tell both sides clearly had a weird upbringing where they've got some weird emotional attachment to James. Nobody should get that upset at an aging mediocre youtuber running out of things to talk about/not giving a shit after almost 20 years. And on the flip side, nobody should really give a shit when people laugh at his mediocre/goofy content.

Like James himself is just kinda cringe and funny, but then you look at the fans surrounding him and it's like holy shit.

The first time I saw the 5:40 video I was MATI seeing a man so pussy-whipped, but now I just laugh thinking about it.

The hair loss thing is normal for a man of his age. I don't know what he can do about it other than a toupee. He'd probably look weird, creepy, or sick with a shaved head.
There's definitely a lot of guys who look better at James's age in terms of hairline. But I think the real problem a lot of people have is that the look doesn't fit the Nerd character. Like he really should wear a toupee when he's playing the AVGN, unless he has an in-universe explanation like "these shitty games suck so bad they're making my hair fall out!" or do a scene where a game sucks so bad the Nerd is ripping chunks of his hair out.

The reason the debate continues to come up because it's more interesting to talk about than the new videos James puts out. Oh he did a new lets play with John, and guess what it's boring and James is awkard because he just doesn't work in a unscripted environment. He works best when he's reading off a script not improvising a whole video off the top of the dome. Cinemassace may not be the trash fire it was in 2021, but it's still not good. It's just boring for the most part.

How do you get so emotionally attached to Bimmy of all people? Pick a better e-daddy
People mention the hair and his age, you got to wonder when he is ACTUALLY going to quit. I mean, are we going to see him still doing this in 10 years time, when he barely has any hair left? The "Nerd" persona has been gone for a while, it's clear James is just phoning it in and not playing a character anymore
Funny how that parody of him playing that wii game with a long beard in one of the christmas specials was still more palatable than James' recent videos

Parenting was replaced with TV/The Internet around the late 70's.

This isn't a new phenomenon. Late Gen X and Early Millennials grew an unhealthy emotional attachment to Star Wars/GI Joe/He Man/Ghostbusters and other 80's and 90's properties, video games and toy brands.

Late Millennials and Gen Z grow unhealthy attachments to Youtubers and Streamers, it would appear.
