People who say James isn't a cow need to go watch the Behind The Scenes video and read his "memoir". Also his famous "5:40" spergout is total cow milk. Fight me.

People who don't think his receding hairline, button laden shirt and midlife crisis band are funny are dead inside and need to learn to laugh again, because all that shit is funny.

People that hate him for this stuff (or any other perceived reason) are dumb faggots that need to shut off the computer and touch grass. Likewise, people that white knight Bimmy's retarded behavior and deny his cowdom need to be cockslapped with pink triangles.

I mean not background checking screen wave considering they work with a literal pedophile is pretty cow worthy.
Not to defend James or anything, but he was tied up with (at least what would become) Screenwave long before Bob Magran was arrested for the CP.

He knew and was friendly with Justin and Ryan from way back in the day through conventions.

Parenting was replaced with TV/The Internet around the late 70's.

This isn't a new phenomenon. Late Gen X and Early Millennials grew an unhealthy emotional attachment to Star Wars/GI Joe/He Man/Ghostbusters and other 80's and 90's properties, video games and toy brands.

Late Millennials and Gen Z grow unhealthy attachments to Youtubers and Streamers, it would appear.
Unhealthy attachment yes. The trend of fagifying all those properties to push an agenda? Also unhealthy. There's the Quarterings/Nerd Crews of the world and then there's everyone else wondering why the dead corpse of some piece of media is STILL moving.

I downloaded it to watch later, I'm busy with holiday shit tonight. I did notice he is still clinging to that retarded shirt though lol

Episode's not too bad. It was kinda silly that the scenery changed like 3 or 4 times, but I'm not really gonna pretend that Screenwave's editors give a shit about consistency

Huh, that's actually not bad. It isn't trying to be some in depth ff6 video essay and failing horribly at it. It's just him going on about his nostalgia for the game, his experience with it, how different it was compared to most other games available at the time, etc. basically encountering a decent JRPG for the first time and how the game manages to do so well even with the limitations it has.

That was a proper positive episode. About the only problem with it, is he compared the fucking covid lockdowns to the world being broken... bruh...

I think this might have actually been intentional. He mentioned at the beginning how the clerk at the store stated the game would take months to finish, it's just that if it were intentional and had he started it at the beginning of the episode and made some obvious seasonal changes to the set as it went on, it would have come across way better. But that's James' halfassed film-making for you.

Honestly not bad, this whole year has been I’d say an improvement over 2021 and even last years. It’s just been exceptionally bland rather than overtly cringey in his material. I do wish though James would really venture out more and put more effort into some interesting camera angles or even cooler guest stars. Hell I’d even take a Gilbert Gottfried style cameo because that would at least distract from James clear low level acting.

My heart rate legit raised a bit when he started that sentence, like "Oh shit is he... is he going to talk about 9/11? That didn't end well last time he did".

This was a surprisingly pleasant episode. He briefly complained about the tedium in the gameplay but otherwise the review was decidedly positive which I didn't expect from him for such a lengthy RPG.

Wasn't too bad at all, loved the Santa stuff. I was never into JRPGs much but it was fairly interesting even though these are always a bit long and drag in the middle. About 25% of the AVGN's he's done since 2018 or so, just a few a year to me, are above average and this is one.

The episode by itself was not really bad at all.
However, you can't convince me that it wasn't 99% a Mike Matei script. Even the story on how he bought the game is kinda similar.

At what point in that 5 hour video did Mike explain his story about buying it?

eh, if the game's generally considered good, he'lll parrot the same general sentiments...see EB, Majora's Mask, Mario 3 etc.

timestamped (and if it doesn't work, :34 sec)

It's a pretty nice review. I was afraid it was going to be the usual "Nerd rage in the end" but he didn't do it, and even said the meme on suplexing a train. Also power outage/parents accidentally pulling the plug was a bane of my childhood. So the whole thing resonates with me more than the average zoomer.v

Damn, imagine the alternate reality James hadn't fucked up his save game and became a fan of Final Fantasy, he would have probably become a tranny.
