I'm starting to notice a trend with these individuals neglecting their pets until they die, or the pet for some inexplicable reason always seems to have some sort of sickness or debilitating nonsense afflicting them almost constantly.

They're so inhuman they can't even gain any delight from the simple act of playing with their pet so it won't get walked or proper care. The autism these people also tend to have means that they don't care about the smell from the animal living in filth any more than they care to clean up their own filth. Some of them are probably sadistic enough to get the pet sick on purpose so they can use that for attention or to grift donations.

"Uhm but yeah my cat is 14 years old and alive and healthy, so yeahhh..." cats are a lot less maintenance compared to guinea pigs. I mean hell, you could just let the thing live outdoors and provide the bare minimum for it and it would probably be fine.

Guinea pigs on the other hand require quite a lot of maintenence. They are constantly pissing and shitting, they need access to hay pretty much all day, they are helpless if just left to their own devices. They have a lot of nutritional needs and will need fruits and veggies. They require much more space to roam around than those tiny cages you see offered in pet stores. I could go on...

Guinea Pigs are awesome, my youngest has a bunch of them, she's up to 6 now, they're great, as long as you can put up with the squeaking, and lawnmower noises they make.
They do eat a lot though, and they need a lot more room than you'd think for guys that small, I ended up giving her the tank I had my Iguana in before he got to big and I had to make a new one, it's like 8 feet by 4 feet and 7 high (Iguanas like to climb) when we turned it into a Guinea Pig house I made it into 3 levels, with ramps between them, one for sleeping, one for eating and one with a load of exercise stuff for them.
They take a lot of looking after, but I think it's good for kids to have pets, once they're old enough, teaches them responsibility.
Knowing Lucas had them living in filth makes me despise him even more.
They're neat little critters with their own personality, like tiny fat dogs, and they're very social, they need interaction.
Anyone who neglects or mistreating animals should be fucking thrown in a pond full of Snapping Turtles. Although Lucas already cut off his dick, now I think about it.
