i do think one of the main reasons so many of these other sites get by the way they do is because of how unknown they are to the general public. people might know 4chan for example but they know nothing about anything beyond that. the average person has no idea that cloudflare willingly protects websites that host animal torture content.

nor do they know congent allows said content to pass through its connections unhindered. there are even actual anti lgbtq websites that are allowed to exist without issue because nobody knows they exist and nobody really cares. so much of what liz-fong-jones has been able to accomplish has only been allowed to happen due to the ignorance of the general public.

they do not know this stuff is happening and whenever a tiny bit of info about it manages to leak out the general lack of knowledge most people have causes them to just go back to what they do know and in most cases that is 4chan=bad which means all it takes is saying kiwifarms is even remotely similar and most will assume its true and thats that. my only concern with exposing all these other lesser known websites is that their owners might not take it too well and come after us as well or make things harder for null in general.

but i do think that if we ever get to the point where the site is done for in our final blaze of glory we should make sure everyone knows about every single awful place that is freely accessible via clearnet.

Why would anyone risk their job just to leak some freaks nudes to some retards manager? It would be better just to leak them to the entire internet and sneed. Plus, it's not like nudes are illegal, unless they depict something illegal, such as this thing molesting a 10 year old child.

If we don't want state control of the pipes as a public utility, if we'd rather no one could determine what can and can't be said or transmitted, how does this not end with everyone using Tor or some future means of decentralizing and dismantling these technological choke points as a best-case outcome?

Probably the best way to hurt cogent would be financially. If anyone in tech wants to buy their services, they should know that not only will cogent not have their back, they will also actively censor your website. And find a way to tell preexisting customers the same thing. Any smaller company or companies that would stick to their guns and not censor or break contract without court order would make a lot of money.
