My fucking sides. $35K per minute? Congratulations, you're paying incompetent retards to animate shit some coomer on Twitter can do in their spare time. The models are all pre-made, you have mo-cap suits, you just need to do the special effects and backgrounds. How many animators are all working on the same soup and stepping on each others toes?

At least as many as there are writers. Aren’t all the “top” RT employees paid $250k+ annually? (Iirc, it’s close to that.) Bet a lot of that chunky RWBY budget was paid into the leads salaries, ie, the over abundance of writers & a couple department leads. Then a few contractors who do all the work make minimum wage.

Talk about being overpaid. They expect that much for mediocrity?

All the voice cast, aside from Kerry and Lindsay are also contract now since they all left the company, Arryn is one of the new story important characters in the english dub of Honkai Star Rail coming out the update after next. So, at least Arryn is up to something and learned how to voice act, it also means she can now charge a better rate. Not that Rwby is going to get any new season, the "greenlight season 10" twitter campaign was a wet fart

Isn’t Barbara still with RT?

RvB was always gonna be on a decline after Monty Oum died
This may be a controversial statement, but I think Monty's contributions to RvB was a net negative. I think the moment RVB lost me was whenever they added his animations in season 7 or 8. Part of the charm was using the limitations of the game to tell the story. That all went to hell with the over the top anime fighting scenes.

Fun fact, the first RT thing Monty did was puppeteering Pongo. Also not so fun fact, they could never make something like this again.

Holy shit, I'm not alone in this. I never knew what the reason was for all the dumb action bullshit in RvB, but it fucking ruined it. Instead of having to rely on dialogue to tell a story and of course get some jokes across, it just turned into a 3d version of those stick fight flash cartoons.

More than even AH dying, RTX being cancelled really seems to be a big sign that RT is dead. I will be very surprised if they make it to this time next year.
literally the only thing Rooster Teeth related that is still raking in views (and money) is Death Battle, but that was ScrewAttack with seemingly no attempts to fuck with it made unlike every other thing related to RT, and there's a likely chance it'll be sold off to someone else or be made into it's own thing when the company goes under completely.

The fact death battle will outlive not just screwattack but roosterteeth as well is as hilarious as it is sad.

If we're being really honest here, it wasn't "wokeness" or LGBTQ stuff that was the bellwether for the end of RT, it was Gen:Lock. It was a total failure on catastrophic levels, from siphoning talent and money that should've gone to improving RWBY (lol), to behind the scenes production drama, to them totally beefing Season 2 to a point where even those who enjoyed Season 1 absolutely loathed it. RT never fully recovered from Gen:Lock's failure and not even daddy Warner Bros (who's bleeding money as it is) could save them.

Then came the sex pest scandal and then them basically saying "fuck off" to their audience, which hastened RT's demise and now they're in the sad, shambling state they are in to the point they're dragging Burnie back for the last season of RvB (which should've been taken out behind the shed several seasons ago) as a last-ditch "Hail Mary" pass to try and lure back older fans, which isn't really going to work.

If RT survives as its own entity by this time next year, I'll be surprised. With the way things are going right now at Warner Bros, I suspect RT will either be sold off to cover debts (even though the brand isn't as valuable as it was in its zeitgeist) or dissolved entirely, with RvB, Camp Camp, and Gen:Lock banished to the land of tax write-offs, never to be seen again.

RWBY's fate is one of three things:
1) Made into a wholly owned WB IP with RT having no recourse to buy back the rights
2) Sold by WB to another studio (like Netflix or Crunchyroll) to cover their debts; new owners proceed to reboot the series rather than do Vol. 10.
3) Tax-write off never to be seen again

Either way, F in the chat for Rooster Teeth lol

Nah, Gen lock is yet another symptom. Just like the "woke" plague infesting that company.

The real death nail was selling themselves to FullScreen to fund Burnies mediocre passion project Lazer Team. I think Burnie is actually quite a competent business man, but he absolutely let his ego get the better of him here.

Things were fine at first with the flood of new capital to fund a variety of new content. However, none of it was profitable or even sustainable. All the artificial growth couldn't be maintained when the money pipe was lessened, then turned off. And once a company of RT's size begins to layoff employees, then everyone else who is competent will begin to leave out of fear of also being let go even if they were never on the chopping block. Leaving behind only the deluded or the dregs who only make things worse. Creating a death spiral that is nigh impossible to turn around.

Not to mention that all the flood of capital catapulted shitty employees to positions of power they didn't deserve or earn because they quite literally couldn't fail no matter how hard they tried (cough cough Trevor from game kids cough cough). Which slowly poisoned the company from the top down as it was being eaten away from the bottom up leading to massive explosions with projects like Gen lock completely falling flat on their faces.

I could go on with all the issues with acquisitions from owner meddling, brain drain, etc. etc. But this post is already long enough.

suffice to say, RT was doomed the minute they sold out. Because very few of these problems would have likely happened had they remained independent and kept their projects within their financial scope.

Only thing that could add to this is Death Battle kicking the bucket or their production quality going down the minute RT isn't backing them financially.
Consitering that early seasons (and I mean like season 1-3 early) of Death Battle often was made using already existing material for the "analysis" sections, and nothing but ripped sprites or models from other video games/promotional flash games (Or even sprites stolen from custom MUGEN character sheets) and animating them with whatever they could get their hands on prior to RT's backing, they'll most likely just go back to that and spin it like it's a nostalgia season to stall for finding another company that will back them.

The idea that RT might open up crowd funding..... Yes give money to a group that told all their old fans who built them to fuck off.
Thank you! Then they whine when their numbers go down.. motherfucker - if you suddenly want to stop doing your old content and "grow as a person" (or whatever faggy shit they're calling it) good godspeed to you. That doesn't entitle you to keep your former fan base.

If you really don't want to call people faggots anymore, don't get mad when the people that showed up for that leave.

Exactly.

As they say, Know your Market.

when RT forgot who they were with originally, they lost those fans and the essence of the company (A bunch of retards together having fun) was lost. While there was some good content over the years (I still found Jeremy breaking Gavin's table as funny), ultimately the company lost much of that old-school style to it and lost its charm. As RT "progressed", they REALLY began to alienate old fans who liked the original RT.

the iDubbbz paradox: when changing as a person is mistaken for growth.

hey i have question: Was it Roosterteeth that got the contract to do the Transformer Nerflix animated movies? and didnt that get torpedoed because one of the guys got catfished into cross dressing and putting large things up his butt?
