To be British you have to be of English, Welsh or Scottish descent.. i mean even taking away the colour of skin, a continental European who was born and raised in Britain still technically wouldn’t be “British”. You can argue about the origins of those ethnic groups, personally i give a pass to people of Germanic/Celtic origins. The definition of "white" and "non-white" changes depending on what exact argument they're making. There were some north africans in the roman army, some of whom would have been stationed in Britain at some point or other, because that's just how it worked. By a process of composition, that means all of the romans in Britain were actually sub-saharan africans. And, of course, the native Brythonic peoples were once swarthy skinned, so they're also sub-saharan africans. White people don't actually exist.
