As I have said before, if Nick tries to stop drinking without any recovery program support, his family will be begging him to drink in no time. There is no one as vicious and insufferable as a dry drunk.

This is just one reason why Nick Rekieta will never, ever stop drinking. Him saying he’ll “fix it or die” is the only true thing he’s said about his alcoholism ever, and he will probably claim today that he was just joking. Because ruining his family and entire life “is funny to me, guys! Come on!”

Nick won’t fix it. He’ll die. But that could take years, during which he’ll learn that there are indeed fates worse than death. Living with the consequences of your unabashed self-centeredness — from destroyed relationships to decimated physicality and more shame than any of us can fathom — is up there.

The incomprehensible demoralization is worth it to Nick, as long as he can maintain the charade that the “concern trolls” and “pearl clutchers” got it all wrong. But who actually believes that at this point? Not even Nick, according to the latest stream confessional.

Honestly, I see a lot of Cobes in him. Starting off a little goofy, but with seemingly good intentions, and then giving up into true debauchery the moment they didn't feel the need to work any longer. I mean, when Nick had his false face, and Josh was just this slow kid (who talked fast), you really wanted to see them both become all they possibly could.

I just can’t imagine being long term pickled with a family in tow.

I’m sure most of us did our partying in our youth, and maybe had a stint of a few days in a row of drinking on holidays, and even with a younger brain & body you end up feeling turned upside down and like utter shit if you try to keep it up.

Imagining it in your 30s or 40s drinking spirits every night, with FIVE kids to have to wake up to, never coming up for air and letting your brain straighten out so you get a proper look at your life…. you’d want to kill yourself.

He‘s not going to be able to be sober enough hours in a row to get a clear view of where he is, where he’s headed, and how bad it is. He’s probably crossed over the last few months into some horrible realm of not even feeling right until he can have his first drink of the day.

It’s going to be a fun one, because for some reason he seems to be going to stubbornly fight this all the way to the liver replacement. Maybe they’ll let him watch American Beauty on loop in the hospital in recovery.

Last night seems like a new low. Certainly being so drunk you read an article you've read in full earlier in the same night is a Ralph-level low. And based on the clips that have been posted so far, he got so drunk he was almost prepared to admit it was a problem.

Makes sense. He did a "shot for each 1,000 likes" stream a while back, saying how it's totally different than doing shots for super chats, but then looked disappointed when he only got enough likes for one or two shots.
