Furry Fandom and Drama General

When I first saw one, I automatically thought of Robbie the Rabbit from Silent Hill. I'll admit, to this day I still think fursuits are pretty unsettling.

I first saw an actual furry (not a mascot or Easter Bunny or Disney costume thing) at a convention I went to maybe eight years ago. He was the only furry there. And he was harmless but still... he gave off a kind of creepy vibe. It wasn't the costume so much (it was a sci-fi con), but just his... presence? He was mostly non-verbal, IIRC. He gave out candy (those caramel "cowtails" or whatever they're called). Apparently he was a sort of fixture at the con for a few years. I wonder more and more when, in cases where furries creep people out, how the furry is totally unaware of the effect they have on non-furries, especially kids. They really seem to believe that everybody loves their fursona and thinks the furry is cute or funny or even cool, or whatever. I'm certain some furries know they creep people out and play it up on purpose, but many of them simply seem oblivious to the fact.

That's been my beef at the start. That sort of openness, while it may have given many of us a voice at all outside the mainstream, opened the floodgates to this Pandora's box of unhealthiness.

That sort of thing pretty much gave rise to the cesspit mentality of forced acceptance of deviant lifestyles, like what's slowly happening with pedophiles in far left circles of the internet hugbox. Yuck.

Funny story there...

What I believe is the first death at a furry convention has taken place at the con happening this weekend in Minneapolis, MN:

Huh. Sad the guy passed away, but I have a feeling the natural causes might not be as natural as we're being led to believe, sadly.

It could without a doubt be an attempt at damage control. If said furry was a senior citizen that got into the fandom, natural causes would be believable. If it were a guy in his 60's or under, that would be hard to believe.

Nah that would be something a brony would do.
Whose to say furries with a bend towards horses wouldn't do such a thing?

Age isn't really a factor. Could be a medical condition unrelated to fursuit sex, diaper backflush, or other sundry perversity. Guy might have had a heart attack or allergic reaction to something or forgot to take his insulin or whatever.

Granted, it probably involved perversity, but there's no way to tell without further details.

Are we sure he wasn't just shot by some redneck Hunter on the side of the road like that one law and order episode?

Seriously though it's pretty sad. Guy was just trying to have a good time and he ended up passing on. At the very least he died in an environment where he was happy.
