Most autistic thing you've purchased lately - c'mon feel the cringe

I bought some sticks.

They're heat treated for parasites and have an anchor so they can be fixed on the inside of my rat cage. The wire ropes I bought last week have plastic locks that have warped in the heat and can't be fastened, and the nets I got at the same time are each in pieces of two to four centimetres long- completely and absolutely destroyed, in other words. I've also had to press some cheap rope dog toys into service. I can't afford to buy this shit right now but I am.

I got several foraging toys a couple weeksago and tried to introduce them to the vermin last night; they completely ignored the delicious treats inside and decided to chew directly on the wooden toys instead, even when a compartment full of treats was open right in front of them.

Fucking rats.

Some of this might powerlevel me, but:

Received as a Christmas gift a Victorian cane. I have a specific use for it but I've already started walking everywhere with it.

I'm also about to buy a lot of Himalayan shit for my office (also for a reason), thangka (silk tapestry), singing bowl (bowl that makes music like a tuning fork when you run a mallet around it), maybe prayer wheel, etc.

Singing bowls are excruciating. Pure torture. It's like being stabbed in the eardrum with a razor sharp knitting needle. They're worse than chalk boards.

Had someone fired where i worked because they were all new agey woo and ended up finding out their "mindfulness lesson" involved 45 minutes of a singing bowl video. FORTY FIVE MINUTE of a 1 hour session.

I hope you fired him with buckshot. If digging twenty odd lead pellets out of his own hide doesn't teach him the error of his ways, then fire him again... this time at the stake in the village square.

I picked up a ton of guitar stuff lately to work on a couple projects. I am extremely autistic when it comes to perfectionism on my custom work. I will tear an entire finished instrument back down to the bare wood and even take hand tools to it and reshape the thing if it isn't perfect or at least very close to perfect when it comes out the other end. I don't build my own yet because I have no large power tools like table saws or drill presses or you know a wood shop or whatever but I strip down extant models and rebuild them from the ground up. You'd be surprised just how much better some cheap Chinese piece of junk can get if you devote a couple dozen hours to resculpting what needs to be resculpted, finishing what needs refinishing and polishing everything that needs polished.

I posted a few of my recent customs in the Guitar and Art threads and I am working on a really neat one right now which I am extremely autistically excited about, like that one little kid who got a Nintendo 64 for Christmas and screamed in that video.

A Powermatic 80 GMT. Very nice.
Right? A legit GMT movement at these price points? Hell yes!

Joining in now: I bought this thing earlier in the week. I've been on a pasty kick lately but I like making them smaller than the typically seen Cornish pasty. It was challenging to find a round tool of a good size to cut the dough and I would crimp the edges with a fork instead of doing it by hand. Obviously getting the size I want and the crimp I want are skills I could cultivate but this retard-simple tool sounded too good to pass up.

A N.S.F. T-shirt because I really like the logo and agree with their politics.

I bought a Jax plushie in November but they still haven't shipped it 😭
Gooseworx needs to personally trepan it first. But don't worry it's gonna be done with love.

Books to learn chinese (simplified and traditional) and japanese. I was eyeing them for a good while, then I saw a really good sale yesterday and bought them all. I know there are ebooks, online courses and youtube videos for everything but I learn better and faster from reading physical texts.

I got a lego minifigure book so I could get the exclusive orange classic spaceman it came with.

Books actually pretty nice to flip though, it's not comprehensive but has enough to give a feel for the different eras of lego. Now I just need to get the classic spacemen you cobble together from different figs and my rainbow will be complete
