NATO has to be one of the worst military powers in history, even decayed powers like The Ottomans Empire or Austro-Hungary during WW1 had more fucking sense than NATO planners. Ukraine should have been erecting significant defensive lines the moment the lines started calcifying back in late 2021, this is something that can be done at the same time as preparations for offensive actions and its extremely beneficial for each unit to know where to retreat to in event of a breakthrough or a total failure during the offensive. As it stands now they just have basic trenchworks along the frontlines, there has been absolutely nothing on the order of the Surovikin line far as I've read.
Reminds me of the British during that same WW1...only building basic trenches because they were convinced that ANY DAY NOW they would smash the German defenses, so why bother building better trenches when they'll be occupying the German ones ANY DAY NOW in a glorious offense?

This idea that Russian elections are blatantly rigged and nobody cares is just western propaganda. Our elections have better integrity than just about all of yours. Putin just has garbage opponents. He might need to cheat one day, if the liberal opposition can scrounge up someone who isn’t a blatantly criminal piece of shit, or the communists can find someone who isn’t on the United Russia payroll. But until he gets a decent opponent, he has no need to cheat. He’s literally the only viable option.
