Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

There are no words to express the amount of loathing I have for the to-the-last-man keyboard warriors, as they all invariably shit their pants and run when it's their turn to die. Hell, we got at least one fitting the description on this very site!
What's funny is that this keyboard warrior wears my damaged eye pic as some sort of own. My sudes are laughing while the frontal lobe require an affection from the palm of my hand.

There really should be some kind of law where if you're advocating for starting a conflict or aggravating an existing one you should be mandated to join the frontlines, doubly so for niggers that normally would never see action such as women, old people, the disabled and muh precious intellectuals. It's easy to talk shit when you know you're never going to have to deal with the fallout.

Let's not forget the worst of them all: journalists.

It's strange to say this but Arestovych is pretty much right.

Ever since the end of the 90's Russia policy was "We will sell you literally everything we have BUT only at fair price" and as you probably can guess American elites resents paying fairly to anyone, so we have Putin become the head of "Tired of your shit" block.

It'd be great to have a if you vote for a politician that advocates to go for war, you go to war first.
That'd make people pay attention or not vote at the very least.

EU will just ship them up the Danube.
Shameful but true. I feel nostalgic for the days when the EU's problems were just debt collecting from the Greeks.

Finland has been very "LE EVIL RUSSIA PROVES A THREAT AGAINST US. SAVE US, AMERICA-I MEAN NATO" in its politics, screaming for NATO membership because of the false narrative that Putin wants to rebuild the pre-Lenin Russian empire..

Which has never made sense to me. And I can't possibly think of a reason why Putin wants to rebuild Tsarist Russia.

I'm pretty sure we all know that Russia doesn't really give much of a fuck about Finland at the moment considering the shit storm that has been happening in Ukraine for years now. And that's before the war.

I'm just so sick of this war tbh. I'm so over the stubbornness against negotiations and the countless lives lost in this retarded proxy war.
The idea of Putin wanting to remake the Russian empire never made sense to me either. The Russians just had an empire with the USSR, it fell apart and was so distasteful to its member states that as they (Poland, Baltic States, Hungary, etc.) are now free, under no circumstances will they accept similar dictation from Moscow again.

There will be another Russian empire but it'll be a Eurasian and economic one I suspect. As others have said prior in this thread, Russia has learned well from its USSR days that its better to trade than occupy and influence than dictate.

As for the Finland NATO affair, I suspect that Finland has gotten itself into a similar hysteria that landed it in the EU those decades ago. I would say that the principal sickness of Finnish politics is "cowing to consensus". It's a malady of losing ww2. Decades of worrying what the Soviets would think have created a culture of worrying what the EU would think or what the Americans would think. Before it was about survival, but now its remained as a gay meekness.

There used to be a revolutionary fire to the Finnish soul. In the souls of those men who defined the fatherland, who defended it, who dreamed it greater. When Finland lost the War, it had to be tempered or else invite the disaster it edged. But now? This is an age of decay for Europe. Now of all times Finns should summon themselves. Finland, a youth amongst the old and degenerate. There should be an electricity in the air, a fierce possession in the eyes of Finnish men, gazing visions of the future, of the fatherland. But alas, there is not.

As for the NATO membership, I do believe it to be the right thing to do, but I am principally worried on how it involves the Americans. Said decay of Europe, particularly the recent sort, is largely the fault of American ideas going where they don't belong. While Finns apart from the usual bourgeoisie in Helsinki and Turku have a better sense than Swedes in their culture and policy, there is again this meekness. Hence my concern.

As for the relationship with Russia, I do hope and believe that it will level out as much as it can for a NATO member, unless America tries to have a laugh on the Russo-Finnish border. Finland has a very good history trading with Russia, particularly when they were the USSR, to the point that it was ironically detrimental to Finland that the USSR fell apart. During Soviet times, Finnish meant "top quality". In my opinion, though it may not do so in the same way, Finland should strive to be a sort of "pearl of the East" in its trade with Russia and China. The NATO affair jeopardizes this but, in the absence of war, politics doesn't get in the way of good business.

Those who deal death must make peace with the notion that death be dealt unto them.

Journalistic integrity is an oxymoron everywhere, but in Russia (I would wager) many people understand that journalists exist to be a mouthpiece for either the ruling political party (Putin) or for opposition interests.

The same way most people in Russia understand that the elections are rigged and a farce, they understand that there's no such thing as a "free media". And most are apathetic about that fact because really, who cares? You can't affect anything. You can't fix anything. And you have bills to pay and mouths to feed.

At least I'd hope most people understand that.
One quote I heard regarding this was: "Russia and China do with their eyes open what America does with its eyes closed."

The boomers thinking Putin wont stop if he takes Ukraine piss me off.
Big diff between Ukraine and everyone else.
Everyone else is world war 3.
Ukraine is just a shit hole and stopping some US money laundering / worse shit.
Honestly, I think he will.

Not because of some Tsarist LARP, but because so many Western European boomers have been gleefully watching as young Russians are killed for defending their country from said boomers.

It's a disturbing reality that boomers who want to live out a Rambo fantasy vicariously through the poverty-stricken youth have been pushing war for close to two years. The older (UK) generation is essentially stomping its feet, watching Sky News, crying about poor Muslims being hurt by evil Israelis and that the Russians need to be stopped.

And what's more, they will happily force my mates to die for it. They will post on Reddit and Facebook about how brave their grandchildren are, while threatening them with removal from inheritance if they don't "serve their country like we did"

First of all the Netherlands barely has an army to speak of and secondly the Dutch will fold within 88 nanoseconds of the first bombs dropping. They don't have the stomach for war nor the nationalist spirit to die for muh country, a rather predictable outcome after being told that, actually, you don't really have a culture and what culture was there should make you feel immensely ashamed for 60 or so years.

Actually pretty appropriate when you think about it lmao.

But until he gets a decent opponent, he has no need to cheat. He’s literally the only viable option.

That's pretty much the Orbán recipe. Though he no doubt actively tries to keep the opposition retarded. I think half of the liberal leadership could br jailed easily for corruption or taking foreigner bribes. But then mqybe someone with half a working brain would take over.

I'm going to describe what I believe the Russian Tactical and Operational approach to be lately and what that means for Ukraine's best option for defense.

First I need to deep dive into how the Russian Army and Wagner took Bakhmut and Soledar.
1703845407759.png
The best term to describe the battle for Bakhmut is meat grinder. Bakhmut was very difficult to take because there are only two available ways to capture a large city, one is to assault enemy positions throughout the city capturing street by street until you have captured the entire city. This is a very bloody and painful process because fighting in cities heavily favors the defenders. The other option is to encircle the city. This is where the meme of fire control and operationally encircled came from. People would use terms like these when enough of the surrounding city was captured that all the major and minor roads are within the range of artillery. Meaning that if a defender was still within a city they would have to retreat under enemy artillery which would cause a large number of casualties. This is an extremely bad position to be in but it is not the same as being encircled. Bakhumut has many major and minor roads going into it which meant a lot of area had to be captured. But while this encirclement of Bakhmut was going on the Russians and especially Wagner were also assaulting positions within the city and generally putting a lot of pressure on the defenders. Why would they do this if this is a costly method of attack that doesn't gain a lot of ground? The best way to explain this is the events of Soledar.

Soledar was a smaller city than Bakhmut to the north of Bakhmut that sat on one of the major roads going into Bakhmut. If you wanted to take Bakhmut you would need to take Soledar. However Soledar was not the meat grinder Bakhmut was. From the time major actions began around Soledar to the time Soledar fell was about a week with the main period of fighting being less than 48 hours. This is massively quick in comparison to the slog Bakhmut was. Whenever something goes this wrong it is less because the attacker did something fantastic and more because the defender made massive mistakes and lost a massive advantage they should have had. Soledar came under threat very quickly and so Infantry units were flooded into Soledar to defend it but this Infantry was largely unsupported by artillery. This led to Soledar being captured very quickly. Soledar explains very clearly why Russia and Wagner continued to engage in urban combat in Bakhmut. By engaging in urban combat you force the defender to deploy a lot of resources to that city and if you have superiority in artillery and air power you can force them to take large casualties even though you are attacking.

So the general tactical and operational approach for Russia and Wagner as seen in Bakhmut is to slowly encircle a city in particular cutting off roads and supply into a city while at the same time using urban assaults to hold Ukraine in place and beat them down with artillery and air power.

This eventually worked even for a the heavily defended and difficult to capture city of Bakhmut with what seems like a favorable casualty ratio for the attacker. But how does this relate to current Russian tactical and operation approaches as the capture of Bakhmut was something like 7 months ago?

The Russian Armed Forces are utilizing a very similar approach currently in at least two places with a third city likely being set up for this. The method of this has probably been altered from the way Wagner especially did it with Bakhmut. Likely there is less urban assault and this tactical and operational approach has been finetuned to accomplish the most on the ground with the least amount of Russian casualties. There will be just enough urban assault to put enough pressure to force Ukraine to keep resources in the more urban areas.

(These maps are from the ProjectOwlOsint group which cannot be trusted and absolutely willing to propagandize but I use them because they are the only maps I could find which are not just blurry pictures and which can be zoomed in and out of. But they should be reasonably correct enough to make the point I want and to understand the general picture of things.)

This is the area around Robotyne.
1703848028565.png

This is the area around Adiivka.
1703848271347.png

This is the area around Siversk.
1703848426902.png

This approach appears in the battle around Robotyne and the battle for Adiivka and is starting to look like it might appear around Siversk. The Russians have an approach that has worked well in the past and are willing to use it.

So the question to be asked now is what can/will Ukraine do to try and slow this approach down. Committing more resources to the urban areas is unlikely to be particularly helpful as the main thrust is around the areas not in them. Offensive actions to retake or stop this is also likely a bad response given the state of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. So a purely defensive posture is their only option. But Ukraine cannot wage a defensive war in the same way Russia or NATO would as they do not have sufficient artillery, air power or armored vehicles to fulfill those defensive operations. Ukraine has a little bit of artillery and a little bit of armored vehicles and a lot of poorly trained light infantry. Given these resources the best approach is probably to stack several lines of trenches around the cities and villages. If those trenches can be easily fortified quickly then they should be but likely you don't want to build too much fortification as if a trench line is broken all of the resources you put into it are lost.

Such tactics will only slow the Russian Armed Forces down and not stop them. And a heavier price will be paid by the defender in casualties.

Ukraine should have been erecting significant defensive lines the moment the lines started calcifying back in late 2021, this is something that can be done at the same time as preparations for offensive actions and its extremely beneficial for each unit to know where to retreat to in event of a breakthrough or a total failure during the offensive. As it stands now they just have basic trenchworks along the frontlines, there has been absolutely nothing on the order of the Surovikin line far as I've read
So true. Sufficient fortifications would have slowed the Russians down enough to make everything a complete and total slog. They likely don't have the time to construct fortifications at this point as well.

I mean honestly they don't even have to. They just need to smear Zelensky's brains against the wall and some of the top cabinet with him.
That'd end this fast. I am honestly surprised this hasn't' happened yet. They're running out of people to sacrifice to the meat grinder.
Whoever ends up putting their signature under the invevitable surrender will live the rest of his life in infamy. At best.
That's why no one's going to be too keen on usurping Zelensky. He poured that poison into the chalice, might as well let him drink it.

This is the bit Ukrainians are slowly waking up to although they should have seen it from the start. It was silly to believe NATO was going to commit anything more than secondhand weaponry. There was never going to be "Bringing the Russians to heel" headline with NATO doing the heavy lifting because when Russia saw NATO bombing Serbians they spent the next 25 years making sure it wouldn't happen to them. 2008 Georgia was more than an incursion; it was also a warning.

Oh well. I'm sure Nuland won't be doing any bragging for the cameras anytime soon.

Remember when Poland announced huge arms purchases from South Korea and sane people questioned where they would even get the funding?

S. Korea wants that arms deal BADLY so they'll give Poland a 100 year .1% interest loan.

They want a huge order to get show off their new arms industry.

Tusk is just being a typical EU official money grubbing bastard.

Amusing to see the reddit keyboard warriors getting asshurt at accurate reporting of Ukrainian suicide missions.

Now as for the current missiles attacks and Ukraine AD, feel free to look at these

From what I've heard, it's absolute dogshit. Proprietary caliber that's totally for "defeating body armor" that American Civilians use that fails at that task, major malfunctions after only 1,000 rounds or so, it's long and heavy as shit, and the list goes on. It's like the AR-15 and AR-10 hate-fucked, then had a retarded baby.

It fails at being a "modern" battle rifle, it fails at being a new assault rifle, it's objectively inferior to the M16/M4, it can't reach out at ranges that purpose-built DMRs/SPRs can...but goddammit, they finally replaced* the M16/M4, so it's good!

*up until a real war breaks out, then everyone BUT the Marines will magically revert back to a 5.56x45mm rifle. The Marines will keep it, along with MARPAT, and swear up and down they're the bestest infantry ever even when they're all talk, no action, and their retarded egos cause their casualties to skyrocket.
I seen "proprietary caliber" knew it was going to be shit, proprietary caliber suck shit in every circumstance especially for infantry armaments.

That's a bit exaggerated. I think we won't see those levels of insanity. And they don't have to either. The main narrative is still muh ebil Putler. If he didn't want this war they wouldn't have to send kids to their death etc.

They're not framing The Unbesiegbare Ukraine anymore but they haven't allowed for any debates whether the reasons for this SMO are more complex than Orks vs. Mankind.
The same people refuse facts and lie about events currently happening in UKR and just swallow what they've been told. They constantly try to push opposing narratives as long as it supports the "now" argument they're trying to make, I don't think its that exaggerated at all.

To stick it to the Russians.
True, because if they didn't have the Russians to hate they would currently be eating their own.

To get at the Russians for historical butthurt. That's literally it. They hate Russia more than they love their own countries. They used to have something (Rzeczpospolita, Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth, Finnish Grand Duchy, etc.) and now they have nothing but the egos of disgraced empires and the earthshatterring buttfucking mad salty loser disposition because they all got owned by people they consider to be subhuman retarded orks at one point or another.

View attachment 5595874

If Russia wins this, and it most likely will, this attitude will spread to all of NATO and US. Imagine making fun of your opponent and making them out to be these barely sapient backwards, barbarian, unwashed, slug people armed with shovels and then you fucking lose to them despite your superior ways and your amazing wonder waffles. Does terrible things to one's feeling of self-worth.

View attachment 5595889

One could argue that this would be their "hit rock bottom, get your head out of your ass and come to Jesus moment", but they are too retarded and too un-self-aware to do that. They'll just double down and try this shit again in another... 10-20 years? In a generation or two? In a century?
Europeans won't ever lose that chip on their shoulder, despite being America's bitches since WW2. Nearly all the Nordic countries, Japan and Australia have really good social programs and support networks for their population because the US has been picking up their military tabs. All the rest of Europe still thinks they matter on the world stage....they don't, same as Britain just a shit hole shell of what it was and sucking US dick whenever they're told to. They're currently finding all this out the hard way and they don't like it.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Massive Attack on Ukrainian Territory

Today, the Russian Armed Forces launched a coordinated strike against enemy targets in the so-called rear regions of Ukraine.

▪️ Several dozen explosions were reported in various areas of Kharkov. Local authorities have stated that industrial plants, warehouses, and a tram depot, which has been targeted multiple times before, sustained damage.

Additionally, there are reports of an attack on the AFU hospital in Kyiv's district, as well as one of the enemy's military units and the Malyshev tank plant.

▪️ In Odessa, the port infrastructure was targeted, and authorities have also reported damage to a "mothballed" industrial facility.

Moreover, an ammunition depot in Belyaevka was hit earlier in the region, resulting in the detonation of ammunition. In the morning, debris from a rocket that was shot down over a residential area fell on an apartment building, causing casualties among the population.

▪️ In Kyiv, the target of the raid was warehouses in the Podolsk region, which were suspected to have been used by the enemy to store weapons.

Efforts to clear debris at the impact site are underway. Furthermore, the Lukyanovskaya metro station, located opposite the Artyom missile plant, was also attacked.

The air defense system also performed admirably, as objective monitoring footage showed a faulty missile striking a residential building in the Svyatoshinsky district.

▪️ An infrastructure facility in Zaporizhia was targeted with an attack.

▪️ Rockets struck a maternity hospital and a shopping center opposite in Dnepropetrovsk. According to our information, the target was a permanent enemy deployment point in the area.

▪️ During the night, the Geraniums once again attacked the military airfield in Starokonstantinov.

▪️ Authorities in Lviv shared footage of rocket debris hitting a residential building.

Furthermore, explosions were also heard in Kherson, Nikolaev, Krivoy Rog, Konotop, and Kirovograd. Information about the specific targets hit is currently being clarified.
