But under no circumstances should you follow House Feudal Japan (House Kurita of the Draconis Combine) or House Chi-com (House Liao of the Capellan Confederation). Better to be a communal catgirl at Solaris VII than a Kurita or Liao. Since House Marik's Free Worlds League implodes into civil war whenever one of its minor nobles has a case of indigestion and thinks House Marik is out to get him as a result, that really only leaves two to choose from unless you go Periphery. I'm sure @More AWS-8Q Than You will show up to make sad PPC noises in my general direction since not even he can deny the reality of that place despite being a fan. So that leaves House Germany (House Steiner of the Lyran Commonwealth) and House England (House Davion of the Federated Suns). The Davions are actually non-boring because they live up to the Perfidious Albion meme in its entirety, and the Space Germans consider the heaviest BattleMechs around to be completely viable scouting platforms, and think nothing of kicking Capellan orphanages into rivers to spare those children the existential agony of growing up as Capellans.

But never, ever go Clan. There's a reason I dropped down the "You Will Never Be a Woman" copypasta earlier in this thread about them. Every so often they'll quit being cartoonishly evil, then they'll remember they're a bunch of furfags who owe their founding to a Russian who should have been hospitalized to get his mental delusions treated instead of being put in charge of creating a brand new society from the ground up and go right back to it. And yes, I'm dead serious about their founder being a complete mental case.

If anything, check out the Tex Talks Battletech videos on Youtube. Decidedly not a bunch of faggots. Very well prepared videos, if overly long. And you can always tell who worships the Clans by how they complain about how "biased" the videos are.

It's really the only way for The Powers That Be to balance out FWL economic and industrial might, especially since the Lyrans have cornered the market on incompetent leadership. No real surprise that Clan Happy Merchant and Clan Lost Cause learned the FWL's favorite sport in record time.

Also in the current era we also have Clan Wolf trying to rule the Is with the main reason "Haha i own Terra" while his entire realm is prepped to get ripped by the Mariks.

I'd call it a rare Marik W but Oriente or Regulus is going to launch yet another rebellion right upon the cusp of victory.

Also, they don't speak French in the FedSuns, have Leftenants, and the New Avalon Catholic Church might as well be the CoE in its doctrine. Although the latest Pope is definitely rather Catholic in that he's wasted no time in declaring a full-blown Crusade against the Kuritans in the name of God, one he takes pride in fighting personally on the front lines.

I still say they're English just on account of how shamelessly backstabby they can get while remaining entirely within the bounds of accepted international law (seriously, the Scarecrow is one of those things that's so fucking cruel yet legal only an Englishman would go for it), unlike the French who consider international law to be something only those hideous non-French obey.

I'd guess Regulus, since they're eternally butthurt and the Captain-General is also part of the ruling family of Oriente. Unless Andurien fucks up and leaves an opening. Although an Andurien-Canopian state would make that neck of the woods more interesting. Wolf's Dragoons helping the League fuck over Clan Mary Sue wasn't something I had on my bingo card, but it's welcome. I have a soft spot for Clan Less Retarded (Ghost Bear) and Clan Lost Cause (Nova Cat) but the Wolves can get fucked. My guess is that either the Lyrans will some how fuck over Total League Victory, the Clan Protectorate parts that want to suck Wolf cock will fuck it up, or the Wolves will asspull some Fiat and keep the actual useful planets.

Also, so can the Cappies. I still hate that my beloved TR-1 Wraith is one of their toys now. I'm not mourning the loss of the Yeoman, but TRO:3055 was good for the League after the travesty that 3050 was, and I hate losing one of the good, if massively specialized, mechs.

Ah, I forgot about Andurien existing, which is a shame since its yet another Tolkien name. Numenor exists, is in the FedSuns, and the people there are exactly as pretentious and snobbish as you'd imagine, complete with an Aston-Martin factory for electric vehicles.

The Drac occupation lasted all of a mere two years before the FedSuns retook it, probably because the Dracs didn't feel like sticking around and dealing with the locals anymore.

Also, the Wraith is a definitely a neat little thing, but I don't even know what the fuck the Yeoman is or trying to be. Also, the Wolves weren't total fucking morons for most of their history, but we can thank Vlad for being a stereotypical Crusader and Alaric for being just like dear old mom. Incest was definitely not wincest in his case.

And I hope Canopus winds up getting double-teamed by Fronc and the Concordat so Detroit can return to its rightful owners. But I just hate the Magistracy on general principles...

Andurien is just never happy with their lot in life, as much as losing them from the League is a shame, even the Regulans bring more value to the table, when they're not being disagreeable shitheads.

There was some fan art that managed to salvage the Yeoman, but it feels like they were trying to come up with an alternative to the Longbow that had less copyright issues. But the League doesn't really need more fire support mechs, indirect fire with Semi-Guided LRMs is one of our things. To the point that the LRM variants of the Awesome are typically Lyran. They need the help, we already blot out the sun with missile fire. I am the kind of ass that would take three Archers and Banshee-M as a body guard for my fire lance, park them on the other side of a hill and indirect fire to death, but that's just what you do as a Leaguer. Nothing teaches a jumping fast mover respect like a 19-point tree to the face, which is why the -M series Banshees exist.

To be fair to Alaric, his pedigree was always going to hold him back. Given how crazy she was, you'd almost suspect Kat as having a bit of Liao in her.

Most of BT are currently waiting for Ilkhan Eyes Only because the teaser we got at that Gaming conevention showed Clans fighting Capellans on New Earth and everyone wonders how that could have happened. It will be also very interesting if Clan Coms..ehm Se Fox will have more HPG's running at this point

As a Battletech fan, I can only support them in that. I got sick of the Fed Suns getting fiat just like everyone else, but I don't know if the solution was to shower the Cappies in it for years. If the League losing Andurien means that they fuck the Cappies over good and hard, I can't really be mad.

It fits with the lore. No one in the Battletech universe really cared about who you were fucking and the only pronouns that people cared about is when they were "was/were" as the techs hosed the remains of the last pilot out of the cockpit. Sadly, the Powers That Be are willing to sacrifice actual good lore writers for actual crazy trannies, so it's only a matter of time.

Although I do wonder if an IS mechwarrior ever Bachalled a Clanner for that ass. Bonus points if it's a madman in a Charger.

I played some of the old Mechwarrior games on PC and got into the lore through the Dark Age books. And it took a while to figure out who was what and what the fuck was going on but I still enjoyed what I read. Currently from what I read online it seems the Wolves control Terra and Devlin Stone lost and was also a Federated Suns plant at the same time?

I remember hating the Capellans immediately but liking the Republic of the Sphere since it came off as relatively very normal. The lore and universe always seemed really fun and it wasn't nearly as stupid and over the top as 40k despite obviously still being pretty crazy.
