In theory there are primaries, but the Dems don't want any because some how a shambling corpse is still their most broadly palatable candidate. Trump is the most popular Republican one, and the most 'logical' as while he (((lost))) the last election to Biden, who received the most votes any candidate ever had, it wasn't a landslide loss. This is before you get into any investigation of irregularities and shenanigans in the electoral process, where it has been noted that even if each and every single vote Biden got was on the up and up, there was enough malfeasance from the media, the glowies and others that call into question the legitimacy of that win.

Not on the left. On the right there technically are, but it's going to be Trump unless they find a way to remove him; the primaries were literally just the old guard using their proxies to smear and waste Trump's time/energy. Since he's basically just ignoring them to death now they're all dropping out.

Yesterday, we dropped by the CVS:

$9.99 for a stick of deoderant.
$2.59 for small bag (not a big one) of potato chips.
That nasty protein shit the old folks drink, Ensure, was once $9.99 for 6-pack and is now $14.99 for 4-pack.

Whatever you think of Biden, this is gonna bury his ass.

Everybody is furious over it. My brother paid about 1/3 more for his car battery than last time--the more expensive/necesary the item, the harder the inflation hits you.

If this is due to supply-chain issues during lockdown, nothing anyone can do about it, but that seems like a tired excuse going on 3 yrs now.

If this state of affairs continues, people will vote for whoever promises to roll it back. Period.

But can they? I admit, economics makes my head spin.

I just buy 2 6-packs at Costcos/BJs. Saves a trip to the store and lasts longer than constantly having to visit the store for them.... especially considering they have them under lock and key now in some stores. THAT alone makes me hate going to stores now.

Double Posting, but Hochul apparently went on a rampage and signed 730 (yes, that many) bills regarding new laws that will take effect in the entire NY State. Some of them include...
  • Minimum Wage = $16 an hour
  • Matthew's Law - Make drug testing resources more accessible to the public in an effort to combat the opioid epidemic. Named after Matthew Horan, who died of a fentanyl overdose in 2020. Who the fuck is Matthew Horan, you ask? Good fucking question, I can't find anything on this fucker other than his name being plastered all over the fucking place in relation to this bill. Apparently he shares names with other people, including an art director for a bunch of films and some pool player in PA that died in 2016. But apparently his sister did a press conference two months ago.
  • As of March 12th, new employers will no longer ask for access to social media accounts during job transitions.
  • Freelance isn't Free Act - The law requires the use of written contracts, timely and full payment for a worker's services and protections from employer retaliation and discrimination. The Department of Labor will provide model contracts to both freelance workers and employers that abides by the new law.
  • Assembly Bill A7273 - Requires NYCHA to notify residents in writing within 24 hours about whether their water is safe to use for cooking or drinking. It also ensures that those contracted to examine water quality samples comply with all federal, state and local laws.
  • if you've been a victim and/or survivor of a crime, a new bill makes it easier to apply for compensation. The new law removes the requirement that victims and survivors must report and provide documentation of the crime to law enforcement in order to be eligible.   • Senate Bill S2060A - requires that campus crime statistics be posted and made accessible on the college's website. It will also require schools to adopt new plans for investigating and reporting hate crimes, and inform new students about crime prevention measures on campus.

More days of where the teachers get paid to do nothing while the parents have to figure out what to do with their kids while they work. And since they holidays are not set like President's Day or Thanksgiving, the date will alternate from year-to-year.
