The American ideas... came from the UK. Sure, you could focus more on individualism when you had a open continent up for the taking, but the UK actually took the Enlightenment ideas way more seriously than other places.

But the general attitude for internal problems seems to be "let the communities self segregate", see how the Welsh, Scottish are still around as an identity*. As for the "fight you for this colored piece of cloth thing", where was the fighting spirit when they basically imported the whole of the Caribbean to London? Literally after WW2 where everybody had bled for the country and nation and were on the Winning side. Say what you want about the Americans, the forced integration could have easily caused a low scale civil war. There were instances where the National Guard and the Federal Army were called up against each other.
The middle class basically turned their nose up, and let the lower classes deal with it. Liberalism is basically a natural expression of how people seem to operate. You have like 5 countries are they all follow the exact same patterns and attitudes.
I am not attacking them, I am saying collective action doesn't come as easily to them as it does to most continental Europeans.
*This was happening in Eastern Europe as well, but that was more of a balance of power issue, no group had the absolute upper hand to get rid of the other ones, and most importantly the other nations usually had no power structures of their own. The Scottish could call an independence vote because they basically already have a state.

No, they don't. The Scottish parliament is a larp. They never do anything of substance and any system they try to run themselves ends up failing and the English have to step in and take control. Scotland isn't a state in any functional way.

Mr. Olonzo was fun. I'm honestly glad he wasn't here to derail the interesting bits of discussion that happened in recent months, but he made for great filler content.
Because I feel that Borzoi has been getting bullied a lot lately (with the truth, and for completely justified reasons), I will make this one concession: like Striker, he is better with the written word than the spoken. He's no literary genius, but he's more than merely proficient. Despite the typos, syntax errors, and occasional clumsy phrasing - honestly, what the fuck do the editors at the American Sun even do? - his essays are at least memorable in a way that his podcasts will never be. Reading books does make one a better writer but not a more interesting person.
