I'd imagine top level, like Null, can ID people with browser sigs. Alts just get past the entry fee, the back end, you're known even with IP masking in the most part. Maybe not linked back to you directly, but when do things not need obscure and circumstances to convict? Not to mention typing sigs and so on, your typing patterns id you.I wonder if the jannies have any access to find out alts? I know reddit itself knows the link, whenever I've created accounts I've not used a vpn or cleared cookies or anything, just logged out, once the new account is created I always have suggested subs of stuff I've used my other accounts in.
With online anonymity, you're moving the goal from ISP to VPN to maybe TOR to Website owner. You can be turned in at any point up front, or at the end. I figure even the NSA will choose to attack the ends than to actually break AES. Though most RSA based will be broken, even 4096, pretty soon.
