Danganronpa lets you live a high school anime fantasy, interacting with the characters and forming quasi-relationships with them, which makes the whole killing each other aspect become more emotionally impactful for the player, and really forming rabid fanbases. The games are hot garbage from a gameplay standpoint; people are just there for the anime of it all. There's plenty of fanservice including a gross loli lesbian bath, and presents all kinds of body types and designs for fans to ship and dream about. Tumblr had an absolute field day with Danganronpa, and as we know, tumblr was the OG breeding grounds for the online trans movement as we see it today.

That said, is this guy even trans? He seemed to have been some sort of repressed non-binary person at best. The friend quoted earlier who received a goodbye text from him referred to him as "he"; you'd think a close friend who was deemed worthy of such a text would use their preferred pronouns. He seemed to have been obsessed with femboys and likely gravitated towards gender non-conformity due to that. I assume it was just limited to his online activity. Too many young people are buying into the idea that any sort of non-conformity with gender norms means you're trans or non-binary, especially if you're terminally online and easily influenced like this dude likely was.

I don’t see enough criticism of the parents here. Not only do they let their kid smoke pot, hang with degenerates, bring knives to school, and threaten other students, they also don’t check the fuckers bag before he goes to school after he just got out of juvie to be sure he isn’t bringing weapons to school. They’re almost as bad the Crumbleys at this point.

Even other kids in the school told the police he was going to do something and they never acted on it.
