I’m surprised a high school/middle school of 1,800 doesn’t have a school resource officer or a police office there. I know in a community by where I grew up, after Parkland the police department had officers go to the high school to do their reports rather than back to the station and had an arms locker there as well. They were able to get a constant police presence without needing to hire anyone or had a dedicated resource officer. 7.5 minutes to get to the school is insane and they were very lucky this kid was using a .22 and a shotgun rather than an AR-15 or something like it. At Oxford high school, it took deputies only 4 minutes and they had 4 killed by a handgun.
