I almost guarantee this is because of the board and Null pronking him.
He can't see what we say anymore and we know that's a big deal to him.
He doesn't get asspats these days. Not even from Jin who used to be a staunch ally.
He has made weird videos recently. Obviously for attention.
He's been really vocal in general.
His mental breakdown is the lack of attention he's getting. He's a bored 30+ man with very few remaining interests. It's all he has. I will not be surprised if he gets an Anti-Kiwi tattoo soon jut to drive his point home.

Oh wow, another bullshit suicide bluff? Is it [current day] already? It's like clockwork. We should start calling Phil Old Faithful if he keeps this up, which I assume he will for as long as he doesn't have some stupid putz to leech off of and their couch to crash on.
I'm sure more and more of his dwindling friends are seeing these suicide posts for what they are; bullshit bluffs in an effort to gain attention and another schmuck to mooch off of.
He's never going to do it, though he probably should. Not only is he too chicken shit to do it, but suicide is probably the most thoughtful, considerate and selfless thing Phil could ever do in his life. Since Phil is nothing but an egotistical, entitled and self-centered leech who is always looking for the next sucker to latch onto and drain anything and everything he can out of them, that coupled with his staggering cowardice means he will never actually follow through with his "threats".
Maybe he'll start being serious about it after his TardBux review goes badly in November, he can't find more schmucks to leech off and crash on their sofas, his mom tells him he can't move back in with her, and not being able to read what we say about him finally pushes him over the edge. I doubt it, but a dude can dream, can't he?

Someone newer to Phil would think that he's having a rare moment of self-awareness: realizing for even a brief moment how much of a trainwreck his life has been, and that perhaps it's all been a hell in his own making.
