For the sake of argument, if Robert Prongay or another pest Fatrick thinks is out to kill him, shows up at a QnA at a convention, then Pat shouts “bad mistake” and shoots dead the pest/prongay on sight, that would be inarguably murder yes?

I know it’s complicated and can vary state to state with stand your ground and what is considered a credible threat, but I am guessing that straight up shooting a seated unarmed man legitimately at a public gathering would be hard to prove as self defense?
