I really want to know more about the therapist. The only answer that makes sense is that Dave is making up these exchanges whole cloth to post online. But if the therapist really is suggesting he go to the FBI she either has to be stupider than he is, or like us she wants to see what would happen if he actually went through with it. I think he’s making it up so that he can go to the feds while maintaining his ACAB facade, which he doesn’t need because he’s a rich, upper-middle-class white man.

That being said, I don’t think he’s planning to actually contact them. Not just because his fingers are too fat to type effectively, but because he knows he’s bullshitting for attention.

Anytime someone around him talks about an illness or an issue they have, he brings up how he's "pretty sure he has that too." He's claimed to have dozens of illnesses when someone around him has it, and forgets about it later. I've heard him claim have EDS, Fibromyalgia, Crohn's Disease, high blood pressure, and arthritis, in addition to his heart & back issues (that he's overplaying to make them sound worse than they actually are)...I'm certain there were more but it's been a while. I love that he claims his unbearable health issues prevent him from cooking for himself (even though he's definitely a really good cook!!) when my arthritic great-grandmother cooked for herself daily until she died in her 90's.

That's a Yaniv thing, too. But he rarely admits to any malady he does have and he had a couple of very serious ones built into him at conception. It's like thrilling himself with pretend health problems and drawing responses from others about them is deeply gratifying.

... Or maybe it's just another way to attention whore.

I think that's the standard response from therapists and medical professionals. "I'm really sorry that happened to you. If what you're saying is true, you should notify the police."

Someone in another thread said they knew someone who worked in some patient-facing job (I couldn't remember if their friend was a nurse, therapist, doctor or what) but their patient said he was being gang-stalked. The friend took this 100% seriously, and told him he needed to contact the police. The OP of this post told the friend in question that the patient is probably schizophrenic. The friend was incredulous, but later on the patient got a psych referral. The kiwi was proven right.

I think when it comes to hypersensitive BPD weirdos like Dave, who would prefer to do a sleep study rather than stop purposefully thinking so hard about the world's issues for hours throughout the night, the therapist is trying to prevent him from turning on her and leaving therapy. So she probably just takes it as face value while trying to address his myriad of other issues.

The humor comes because they hate each other, not gays. How are Elon Musk or Marc Zuckerberg homophobic? I'm 95% sure that Elon has never publicly stated anything homophobic, and that remaining 5% is that he said something arguably homophobic. I'm 100% sure that Marc never has.
