No, as a surprise to no one at all, he does not have permits. His most recent tiktok is a dramatic reenactment of city inspectors visiting him and giving him a stop work order like a week ago. I have no idea what he expected to happen here... like in a lot of towns in the US we need approval to do dumb shit like cut down trees so I really don't know why he thought he could get away with tunneling like a mole and destroying the ecosystem and underground infrastructure.

I am not an engineer nor have I ever tunneled under my suburban home, but I along with most Americans am aware of the exceedingly long wait times with respect to any sort of government related inspection. The fact that these guys showed up immediately is probably a sign he's in big trouble.

Clearly the issue is not money since they seem to have all the tools and very few jury-rigged solutions. I am shocked this whole project has not been simply brought to a halt on OSHA alone. I see that the most recent video from December 28th notes that finally the city is requiring a PE to come in and actually determine if the tard tunnel is not a Kaotic video waiting to happen.
*PE = Professional Engineer which is an engineer who has taken the extra step of a state certification that they really did learn something in college. Also if something goes wrong they are the ones responsible. I feel bad for the unlucky fuck who catches this job. They are going to have to assume nothing was done to code and as a result spend forever manually checking even the most basic standard that normally they might gloss over. It will probably be the most extensive code lookup they have done since taking the nightmare that is the PE exam.

They are even nice enough to document how incompetent they are when it comes to safety and then despite stating the concerns they do it anyways.

It is something about only having half the autism required to fully go in on anything. If they loved all the stuff so much they should have become an engineer. The point of an engineering degree for some is to go so deep into a particular sub discipline of a field they can get paid big bucks if they find the right employer. Instead Kala has the tism where they go balls deep into a subject right until they hit resistance then once it gets difficult or becomes a chore they move onto the next novelty that peaks their interest. Tunnel troon also lives in an HOA neighborhood. I guarantee they were the ones who called the city to snitch on them and had no way to do anything through their CC&Rs since it’s inside the property and HOA’s have limited jurisdiction over them.
